NO RESERVE AUCTION! Up for auction is this 1987 Chevrolet military 1 ton 4X4 in excellant mechanical condition. The 6.2 diesel fires right up and runs smooth and balanced.Do not confuse the 6.2 engine with the 5.7 that gave gm auto diesels a bad rap. The 6.2 is very reliable, easy to work on. A good engine for bio-diesel conversion. The 400 turbo transmission shifts without any slop. The rear differential is a Corporate 14 bolt. Low end torque is quite impressive. 24 volt starting/charging, but all accesories are 12 volts. 2 new batteries. The body is solid with no rust through. It is sunbaked from the southwest, some light surface rust where paint baked off. The drivers door has a dent and a suction cup would pull it out.The passenger door has a dent. Usual scratches you would expect. The seat upholstery is cracked and the dash has some cracks in foam. Everything works. Truck was well maintained with the exception of upholstery. Once you see the condition of the engine/drive train you won't question the orignal millage that was stated on gov title. It is now titled & licensed in wisconsin. The truck is located near Gordon, wisconsin. 40 miles south of Duluth/Superior or 160 miles NE of Minneapolis/StPaul. My phone is 715-919-2010. I'm on central time, please don't call after 8 pm. I am selling this truck due to the fact that i'm out of work, was planning to build a MUD TRUCK. The front end needs a "toe-in" alignment. The complete tie rod had been replaced recently. The tires have some weather checking, but they are E rated. I trailered this truck from New Mexico to Wisc. The original millage at purchase was 43380. Oil is clean and was recently changed due to new gasket sealer on covers. Transfer case also has full fluid. Transmission oil is good and it is clear with NO BURN'T smell. No oil leaks of any serious nature. 4 wheel drive has been tested, lock-outs operate smoothly. Front end has been lubricated. Engine does not use oil, except what is normal for a 6.2. I drove this truck to get a load of firewood, about an 80 mile round trip. No problems whatsoever, no scary noises etc. Tires are a bit out of balance and the toe-in [a simple alignment] should be done. Brakes are excellent. A spare and jack/handles are good. Tank is nearly full of diesel too.
