Vehicle Detail
Listed here for sale is a very unique 2004 Subaru Forester XT featuring a 2.5L boxer engine equipped with turbo producing 210hp which is quite powerful for this size of vehicle mated to a 4 speed automatic transmission with over-drive. Color is Aspen White. This forester is equipped with Subaru’s exclusive symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system that is the most advanced on the market today, a great feature to have with the coming Winter months. These Subaru Foresters are also very safe, with front and side air bags and great rollover protection. But handling and braking are incredible so even better than being in a safe car when having an accident, is being able to avoid an accident all together. Click HERE for a great description and review of this amazing car. Odometer is 68,500 miles. Average fuel economy I have gotten with this car is around 21mpg. A few times I was able to squeeze out almost 25, but that was highway driving the whole way. I am the second owner of this vehicle. First owner drove all highway miles for work. He traded in on a WRX I think and then I bought it from World Class Subaru in Lexington, KY. Mileage was around 34,000 when I bought it. It has been my daily driver up until March 09. I then had to buy a truck for work and haven’t driven the Forester more than 500 miles since. I really love this car and I hate to sell it, but I simply can’t afford both vehicles right now and now I have to sell my baby. I have never dragged or raced this car. Here are a few of the “extras” that are installed: Tinted windows that are the same darkness on all windows (except windshield of course) and charcoal gray pinstripes with Subaru Logo on fenders $200 Cobb SF Short Ram Air Intake System (adds around 15-20hp to stock) $150 Tail-lights have been lightly smoked with a frosted smoke-out spray (not a cheap film or tacky covers like on many cars) which adds a nice touch that matches the windows $50 Vehicle was taken to Line-X and undercoated (which will prevent the vehicle from ever rusting) and Line-X (the same stuff used to protect truck beds) was sprayed on the rocker panels (which protects against scratches from rocks and people kicking the rockers when getting in and out of the vehicle) $400 A “Forester” overlay was installed on the 3rd (middle) brake light $20 Fog lights were covered with a blue tint film that looks great when lights are on or off (great if your team colors are blue and white like the UK Wildcats are mine) $40 Genuine Subaru All-Weather Rubber Floor Mats (I still have the cloth mats available as well) $75 Genuine Subaru Hood Bug Deflector $100 Genuine Subaru Security System Upgrade $200 Genuine Subaru Rear Bumper Cover $75 Genuine Subaru Center Arm Rest Extension $100 And I’m sure there are more extras that I’ve added on that I cant think of right now. The pictures speak for themselves. A very high end Sound System was installed about a year ago. Components include: Kenwood DDX512 deck (which looks very nice as shown in pictures) that has many features like DVD playback, XM satellite radio, IPOD control from 6.5 inch touch screen interface, GPS navigation by Garmin, and much more. All Speakers were replaced with high end Kenwood speakers. A Kenwood 1000 Watt Amp was installed along with a very nice 12” Low-Profile Kicker Subwoofer. The price of entire system when it was installed was $2000+ Spark plugs and coils were replaced at 50,000 miles New Interstate battery was installed in June 08 New Bridgestone Potenza G 009 tires were installed at 40,000 miles and have about 50% tread left (I think tires were rated at 60,000 miles life, but I cant remember for sure) The main pulley was replaced under warranty at around 60,000 miles because of it being out of balance I’ve been faithful on the maintenance of this vehicle. Oil has always been changed within 4,000 miles and every oil change I used a new oil filter. I rotate and balance the tires every 8,000 miles and do an alignment every 16,000 miles to keep it running smooth. But as with any used vehicle, there are a few “imperfections” that I will be as honest as possible about. First, there’s one wheel that has slight curb rash on about a third of the lip. This was the condition of this wheel when I bought it. Second, there is a small rip in the drivers side seat in the vinyl bolster area. It’s about an inch long. There’s also a very small one right next to it. I looked into getting it repaired and the cost wasn’t worth the price. If I would have kept the vehicle, I would just keep using it the way it is until it needs to be replaced which you can get a new Genuine Seat Cover from any Subaru Dealership. Third, this vehicle was caught in a hail storm about a year and a half ago. There are about 5 dents on the roof and 20 or so on the hood. I was going to turn it in on my insurance but decided not to once I found out that I would loose my yearly bonus for 3 years following the claim. So I have just put up with it. I took it in to get an estimate for getting paintless dent repair performed by a dealer body shop in Lexington, KY and they said it would be $375 for the roof and $600 for the hood. The reason the hood was so expensive to work on is because its aluminum and not steel. So I looked into replacing the hood and a local body shop said they could order, paint, and replace the hood for $375. So to get the body back into shape, you are looking at around $750 If this is a deal breaker for you, contact me and we can try to work something out. That being said, all the extras that I’ve installed on this vehicle, not including the sound system, more than makes up for the hail damage. Therefore my selling price without the sound system will be below blue book value. If you want the sound system it will cost an extra $1000 if you win the auction. Otherwise I can take out the Deck, Amp, and Subwoofer and install them in my truck. I still have the Original Deck which has a 6-disc CD changer and can then re-install the Factory Deck and reconnect the Factory Subwoofer in the trunk area. The aftermarket speakers will stay though, because the original Factory Speakers were horrible. Contact me if you need any more photos, information, etc. Thanks and happy bidding.
