Vehicle Detail

Honda SuperHawk VTR 1000 Adventure Super Hawk 996 Vehicle Description Up for auction is a 1999 Honda SuperHawk VTR 1000f custom, a.k.a., "The Japanese Ducatti!" The accessories and add-ons are pages in length! This SuperHawk is setup to go the distance, it has been ridden across the country a couple of times. This bike runs great, drives smooth, and has plenty of horsepower! It has not been laid down while driving but has been tipped over. Some cosmetic dameage but nothing mechically wrong with the bike. All cosmetic fixes are very inexpensive. The front fender wheel cover is brand new, exhaust recently purchased and installed, put a few thousand dollars into this bike to replace a lot of wear and tear items. Was going to replace fairings but I already spent enough money on this bike and I now have a new bike to play around on. It is a great bike and some cosmetic wear and priced accordingly. Bike is also locally listed so I have the right to end the auction early if purchased locally. At this price, the great Honda V-twin will bring a smile to your face and tons of enjoyment to you whether you ride long distance, go off- roading, or just want to cruise around town. If you want a fast bike or eventually build up to one and are just getting started to ride, then this is the bike for you. It has the perfect combination of smooth acceleration that is not overbearing, extra torque and horsepower when you need it and are more comfortable with the bike, and a power band that is present from all ranges on the rpm. Don't waste your money on buying a 250, 600, 750, or even a 900cc motorcycle and I will tell you why. It doesn't take long to get used to the speed and acceleration of a motorcycle. So if you buy one of the smaller motors you soon get bored and want more power, which means you need to go buy another bike. The price of bikes these days, it is hard to find even a 250cc for this price. Plus if your a beginner and lay the bike over, great!!! It is better to get all the kinks out in the begining then getting the bike you really want and doing it to that one. If you've ever ridden a SuperHawk, you know if you look in the mirror you see more of your shoulder than behind you. So new mirrors have been added to give an extra view of the sides. I also have additional mirrors that can be moved to the end of the bars and provide better safety. In addition, two 12V plugs have been added to the cockpit for your electronic accessories! I used them for GPS and iPod. Of course on the longer days you'll need to occasionally stretch your hands out so a throttle lock has been added to keep you up to speed while stretching! For all of your pocket items, there is a large tank bag to put your items in. There are a new set of front calipers with new brake shoes all the way around and new fluid. New forks have been put on as well as a new wheel fender cover. Also, an aftermarket taillight with built in turn signals have been installed to replace the rear bulky turn signals and license plate holder to make the bike look sportier. In order to keep your bum happy for the all day rides, the seat has been up graded to a Corbin memory foam type seat. This thing is comfy! On to the performance! This thing rips if you want it to! It's a single liter V-twin bike. Easy on the take off, and this thing will wheelie like no other if you are daring enough. Air filtration is provided by a K&N filter. Two Brothers Racing slip-on exhaust has been installed and sounds great. It also provides safety so other drivers can hear when you are next to them (VERY IMPORTANT!). The suspension has been resprung for a sportier ride, and makes handling the added weight of gear much more pleasurable. Rides GREAT loaded! The tires are in good condition, the chain and sprocket have very few miles on them. It has a brand new battery and regulator rectifier! You won't ever have to hassle with the crappy Honda R/R again it was replaced with an upgraded unit. The windshield has been upgraded to a Zero Gravity smoked windshield. The condition of this bike has some bumps and bruises. It is NOT a show bike, but a utilitarian motorcycle. This thing will go the distance. Don't worry about premium fuel like those GSX-R gixxers, put in regular fuel that is cheap and available everywhere! You will get 150 miles on a tank with this monster. Ultra reliable Honda power plant. The bike has never been crashed and has a good title. It has tipped over in the driveway and has a ding in the gas tank to prove it and some damage to fairings, but nothing mechanical. If you want to replace the rear seat cowl for $292.93 go to this website http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=180302&category=MOTORCYCLES&make=HONDA&year=1999&fveh=4078 . Also if you want to replace the front fairings DON'T GO TO A DEALER!!!! You will have to pay over $1,200.00 dollars because there are four pieces (not one). Instead go to this website to replace all fairings in one piece for only $345.00, plus a paint job for about $100.00. http://www.sharkskinz.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=23&cat=VTR1000. I know this may sound like a lot, but the damage is so minor in most places, 90% of most people can't even notice it while riding or without me even pointing it out. The only thing not pictured is the oil pan cover fairing. I have the piece and hardware and had forgotten to put it back on while taking pictures. Nothing is wrong with the piece, it is still in good condition. **I KNOW THIS POSTING MAY TURN SOME PEOPLE OFF BECAUSE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A SUPER CLEAN BIKE, BUT I AM TRYING TO BE AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THE PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM HYPED UP THE BIKE AND HAD PICTURES OF THIS THING POSTED BEFORE HE DAMAGED THE BIKE. I DROVE ALMOST 20 HOURS ROUND TRIP WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AT WHAT I PURCHASED AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LATER, THE BIKE IS IN GREAT RIDING CONDITION. I WILL NOT DO THAT TO SOMEONE ELSE, SO PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS AND I WILL RESPOND ASAP. THE BIKE IS USED AND IS BEING SOLD AS IS WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTY. **I ALSO OWN A BUSINESS THAT HAS A CREDIT CARD MACHINE THAT ACCEPTS MASTERCARD, VISA, AND DISCOVER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE THE BIKE WITH A CREDIT CARD TO MAKE THINGS EASIER ON YOU. IF USING A CREDIT CARD THEN A 3% CONVIENCE FEE WILL BE APPLIED.** The extras that come with this bike: Motorcycle Cover brake/clutch lever HONDA Service Manual !!! HJC Helmet- medium Joe Rocket Jordan gloves LG/ XL Duhan leather Honda racing jacket w/ pads and liner- (Never been used) XL TMS Racing red jacket w/ pads and liner Medium red mesh Jacket w/ pads and liner This thing needs a little TLC with some body work but the major things that need to be replaced. I have already done all the major things and you will be riding with the biggest smile on your face as soon as you pick it up! Take off to the Baja, cruise the Dragon's Tail, or go see the Redwoods and travel the Pacific Coast Highway getting 40mpg with the wind in your hair! I know I'm missing things about this bike that have been added, if you are looking for a bike to actually ride and not trailer around showing off, you will NOT be disappointed. If you want a bike to win the local motorcycle show, you should keep looking.
