1968, Doesn't seem that long ago, Unless you really look back.......... Elvis Presley made his Comeback in a tv special, in which he wore his famous Black Leather Suit, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King lives were both cut short by an assasin's hand. Minimum Wage was $1.60 an hr, Gas was 34 cents a gallon. Apollo 8 is the first manned spacecraft to orbit the moon. The emergency 9-1-1 telephone service is started in Alabama. The first Big Mac is introduced at McDonalds for 49 cents. The Beatles create their own label and release the first single from it called Hey Jude. Lyndon B. Johnson signs the Civil Rights act and later announces that he will not seek re-election and the US is still at War in Vietnam, Feel Old enough Now? I am listing this truck for a friend of mine, He hopes to use all the money made from it to start an after school program called Classics and Christ. He plans on teaching young adults at his Church how to restore classic automobiles to get them interested in the Hobby, So I volunteered to list this for him to help get it started. This is a 1968 Ford Ranger Short wheelbase. It is powered by it's Original 360 engine which according to the speedometer has just under 87,000 miles on it. It is an automatic, has headers and dual exhaust. The truck runs good but has been sitting idle for about 4 years in his garage, It will need new gas, fluids changed and a new set of tires before it can be driven on the open road again. This is a VERY Solid Truck. I have found 3 small rust places on it, one in the corner of the bed, one on the low part of the tailgate and one on the low front passenger fender. This truck received a Scuff and Spray MACO paint job a few years ago, No body work was performed, it does have a small dent on top of the rear bed on the passenger side, and one under the tailight area on the passenger side of the bed. also what looks to be a thin scrape type dent on the passenger door. Some other mirror adorned the driver door at one time and the holes were not repaired (see Pic) also a hole for a speaker was cut in the driver door. The Glass all Looks good. The rockers, door bottoms, cab corners, floorpan, etc. All looks rock solid. The frame is very solid as well. Came with headliner, padded dash, custom door panels, rear cab light, aluminum grill, chrome bumpers and western style mirrors. Paint looks good from 5 ft but if you want a show truck, I would repaint it. If you just want an Old Classic to drive around in and work on a little at a time, I guess it is fine. Again, the tires are dry rotted from sitting and it should be trailered home. There is NO TITLE, None needed in Georgia and some other states on a vehicle this old, HOWEVER, it does have it's most current registration and will come with a legal bill of sale, which you should be able to use in your State to obtain a Title.
