Vehicle Detail

I've owned this car about 25 years and it has been a great car with a lot of great memories. But it's time to let her go. I have some other cool toys and as I've gotten older, truth is I prefer the automatics. It's still a thrill to slam the gears once in awhile, but it mostly just sits in the garage. I've only driven it about 6 times in the last 2 years. She needs and deserves someone who will drive and enjoy her. So she is up for sale. Here is the history as I know it. I bought the car about 25 years ago from a guy who was restoring it. He had all the body work done and in red oxide primer. I've restored cars for about 35 years and I looked it over pretty good and he had done a nice job.The only way I can tell it is a clone is by the VIN. The interior was in fair shape and she ran good. The engine is a 1970 WT Ram Air III 400,with matching #12 Ram Air heads, Muncie M20 and a 3:55 12 bolt posi rear. I put a PPG basecoat clearcoat paint job on her in Matador red and drove her everywhere. The paint has a few imperfections but still looks great after all these years. Not show quality but an excellant driver. You have to look close to see any flaws. Super smooth, no orange peel and a deep mirror finish. About 8 or 9 years ago she started using a little oil and the clutch was getting tired. I pulled the drive train and dropped the engine off at a friends machine shop. The engine was bored .040 over, crank turned 20/20 and completely balanced and rebuilt with the first design more aggressive cam GM used in Ram Air III's, a Performer intake, Edlebrock 750 carb and repo Ram Air exhaust manifolds. This motor screams but idles well on pump gas. I had the trans gone thru and put everything back together with a new Hayes Billet flywheel and a Ram Powergrip clutch. While she was down, I installed all new interior. New seat covers, carpet, door panels, armrests, etc. And I installed a new top, pads and back window. Everthing is still real nice except the carpet has faded some from cruising in the sun. I've probably put about 8000 to 9000 miles on it since all this was done. The only things wrong that I can think of are a crack about 4" long on the passenger side of the dash pad. The trans will sometimes pop out of 2nd gear on deceleration and the factory Hurst shifter will try to hang up on the 2nd to 3rd shift if you shift it slowly. It never does it if I slam it into 3rd. Could be shifter wear or just may need adjustment. The temp. gauge in the Rally dash isn't accurate so I have an aftermarket mounted under the dash. Everything else is in order. So to sum it up. Nice convertible with a super strong Ram Air III 400, Muncie 4spd, 12 bolt posi, Rally gauges, hood tach, working hideaway headlights(has 68 grills and doors simply because I like them better), endura bumper, power steering, tilt steering column, power windows, power top ( had a ram leaking, so I replaced them both about a month ago). Wheels and tires have about 500 miles on them. I wouldn't be afraid to hop in this car and drive cross country. Gonna miss her. Won a few shows with her, got a million thumbs up's and compliments over the years. Man, I'm about to talk myself out of this. Oh yeah, went to take her for a drive about 2 months ago and the battery was dead (hadn't driven it since September) so I put a new battery in her. Absolute auction with no reserve. I will require a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours via paypal. Balance by bank wire transfer or cash in hand within 5 days. I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. I can store the car inside for a couple of weeks if need be. I can overnight the title to you if you wish once full payment is received. I can help load if needed for transport most anytime. Please ask any and all questions or come by and check her out. Thanks.
