Mopar 1951 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe Gyro-Matic 51 Mopar 1951 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe Gyro-Matic 51 VIN: 31672689 Milage: 71,972 1951 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe Interested parties can call Frank @ 402 943-9787 This cute 1951 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe came from an owner in Missouri and was the top of the line model for that year. The car was not running at the time, however with a new battery, set of points, oil change, rebuilt carburetor, and clean fuel tank, the engine turned over and fired right up. The engine started and ran smoothly with only a few adjustments, and has excellent oil pressure. If you have any questions regarding this vehicle please drop me an e-mail @ fmsr@cox.net Or Call Frank @ 402 943-9787 Overall this is a nice little original driveable coupe that someone could enjoy as is. I have allot of experience with older Mopars and coupes like this don’t change hands very often. Engine & Fuel System: The engine was given a full tune-up. Oil and filter changed, including a full wash out of the oil filter housing. The fuel tank was removed and found to be solid with no rust or dents, sent out for cleaning, repainted and reinstalled. At this time the fuel sender was repaired, and fuel lines mechanically cleaned out, and secondary fuel filter installed. The fuel fill pipe grommet was replaced with a NOS Mopar grommet. The carburetor has been cleaned, and rebuilt with a new kit as needed. Radiator was in good original condition and needed no attention. NOS tailpipe was installed. Brakes & Driveline: The brake system has been gone through. The brakes master cylinder was rebuilt with a new seal kit. All 4 wheel cylinders were rebuilt. The brake shoes were in good condition, with much wear left in them. The vehicle stops very well as it should. The clutch, throw out bearing replaced, pressure plate inspected. The transmission filter was cleaned, and transmission flushed out with cleaner before new 10w fluid was installed. The transmission tail shaft seal was also replaced at this time. This semi-automatic M6 transmission shifts like it should, and is a snap to use. This transmission is a Gyro-Matic, and shifts perfectly. The transmission wiring loom was also replaced. The tires are a matched set, and would be usable for short trips, but should eventually be replaced. This car is drivable as is, and is fun to drive as the steering is solid and easy to handle. We have been cruising around in it from time to time, and it has prompted many compliments. Cosmetically: All bright work was removed and buffed out. And after minor dent repairs, the body was painted with a high quality Beige color similar to an original dodge color. The remainder of the leftover paint will be included with the vehicle. The bright-work is in great condition with a few dings here and there. The front cowl area was repainted with black Rustoleum. All 4 original hub caps were buffed and hand repainted. Both front park light lens’s and rear taillight lenses were replaced. The bumpers have a few dents and dings but are still in very nice condition considering. Electrical: The battery has been replaced, and many other units were rebuilt / replaced to bring the car up to good performance. Both horns were removed, cleaned, painted and readjusted. The horn wire in the steering column was also replaced with a NOS wire. The vehicle did not have a radio installed. We had a good used radio on hand which is correct for the car, and were going to install it but felt that maybe the new owner should make that decision. Therefore the radio shown in the trunk is included with the vehicle. All of the gauges, and lights work,...except for the temp gauge which probably needs a recharge. Charging system, speedometer, blower motor, horns, and wipers, all work well. Interior: A new set of NORS seat covers and NORS front floor mat were installed, but for show purposes the interior could stand to be reupholstered. The trunk mat was replaced with a NORS mat we had on hand. The rest of the interior is original and in OK condition, including the headliner. In general, the body is as solid as can be, with no rust holes at all. Floors and trunk are extremely solid as well, with only a couple small pencil sized holes in the driver’s floor pan. Glass: Both windshield halves had bubbles in the glass and were professionally replaced. The drivers window had a crack in it so it was replaced as well. Other things this car could use in the future would be a new muffler, and temp gauge repaired. This would be a wonderful car for someone to have, at an extremely cheap price, while being a joy to drive with little work. Anything done to this car at this point will increase its value dramatically. It is my philosophy to be totally open and honest about all items that I offer for sale.
