Vehicle Detail
1981 Marda RX-7 in great condition, Runs great and just underwent a major inspection and mechanical tune up. No rust. Never smoked in. Always garaged. Body is in great condition with a few minor defects: small ding on passenger door by the mirror and two small dings/chips on the right quarter when a rake handle fell against the side in the garage. The ding on the passenger door also happened in the garage. Other visual blemishes to the paint are all a result of aging. The interior is perfect except for a couple of cracks in the vinyl on the driver's door. The only machanical defect is the A/C, which has not worked since 1990. I opted to not get the A/C repaired since I was no longer driving the car on a regular basis. Car is all original except for the Aiwa radio/cassette player installed in 1983 to replace factory AM/FM radio. Also installed wheel locks in May of 1983. Other than that, this car is as it was purchased in May of 1981. Also have a black bra for the front end. I purchased this car new on May 12, 1981 at Wooster Imports (Mazda dealer) in Wooster, Ohio. This dealer is no longer in business. I have all of the service records and will provide them to the new buyer. The car was always serviced per the manufacturer recommendations by Mazda dealers. There was body work done in April of 1983 when we had to swerve after a freak ice storm to avoid another car that was sideways on the road. In doing so, the right rear sustained minor damage when we hit a guardrail. It was immediately repaired at Brown Mazda in Toledo, Ohio. In January of 1988, the hood had to be repaired and painted when a teenager tried to hurdle the car and his tennis shoe came down on a corner of the hood. I could see the entire event from my 4th floor office window, but was unable to stop him. Other than that, most of the maintenence has been routine. The majority of the miles were put on between the original purchase date on May 12, 1981 and August 9, 1990, when it had 39390 miles. Our first child came along in 1988 and the car was driven very little after that. While it has been garaged since 1990, it has alway been started on a regular basis and taken for short drives. Most recently, it was taken to Brown Mazda, one of the local Mazda dealers, where it had a major tune up (its' first ever), new spark plug wires, new slave cylinder (for the clutch), fuel filter, air filter, brake check, choke cleaning, etc... The car now runs and drives like new, has a lot of life left, but need to be driven by a responsible owner who appreciates this beauty for the classic it is. The winning bidder needs to provide a $500 Paypal deposit within 48 hours. When you pick up the car and the title is transferred, please provide the balance due with a certified check or money order. Thanks for bidding.
