Vehicle Detail

Great, fun 2001 Volkswagen Yellow New Beetle is in search of a new home. With recent changes in our personal lives, we no longer need / use our beloved Beetle. Over the years we have ensured that all services were performed on schedule and by either VW dealers or by other major mechanics in the area. Unfortunately, over the last few weeks we have discovered that the car is in need of a new thermostat (currently stuck open). To our knowledge, no other service is necessary, as the tires have approximately 15k miles on them, and the brakes have been replaced within the last 20k miles. Instead of us fixing the thermostat at the dealer (and thus passing the cost along to the buyer) we have decided to sell the car as is (thus reducing the amount we are willing to accept). As can be expected, there are minor scratches on the outer body, and some wear inside. We are the original owners, and the only "accident" that we have had was a scratch on the left rear fender from relocating (later fixed). On Jul-15-10 at 11:30:38 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE - I have received a couple of questions regarding overheating. The car has never overheated. We discovered the thermostat problem after the car took longer than normal to warm up after sitting outside overnight on a cold night a little while back. When we took it in to the dealer, they stated that the thermostat was stuck open, resulting in longer-than-normal warm up times.
