Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1959 Renault Dauphine; a true Barn Find , not licensed since 1964! Found in a shed next to the 2nd owners house who said he bought it from some folks that wanted to go to Europe back in 1963. Was driven for awhile by his teen son and then put away. Unmolested original - I was going to restore it but have too many other projects and not enough room. I have the clean Washington Title from 1964 and the keys. Would be an easy restoration, body is solid with no rust through that I could find, a few dings and bruises. The sunroof opens and closes and the doors operate smoothly, have the original passenger door but the drivers has gone missing, could not recall why they changed them. The floor has some scaling as shown in the pictures but was dry for all the years it was stored, I could not find any pinholes or rot. The factory rubber floor mat is pliable and could be cleaned for reuse. I pulled the spark plugs and oiled the cylinders turning the motor freely, it seems like it would be easy to get started though I have not tried. The dash lights glow when power is hooked up. I was told that the car drove just fine back in 1964 but obviously have not driven it myself. All of the glass is good as are the front and rear glass rubber window seals. It will need new weather stripping and seals. The original tires were all dry rotted so I put some rollers on it and painted the wheels – it rolls easily and the tires hold air. Extra parts shown are included, door rear bumper etc. The license plates shown on the car have been removed and are NOT included.
