FOR SALE IS A 1996 AUDI A6 QUATTRO WAGON. I HAVE DRIVEN AND TESTED THIS CAR AND HERE IS MY ASSESMENT. ENGINE: Engine starts first time and run well. Idles smoothly and does not overheat. TRANSMISSION: THIS CAR HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT IS STUCK IN LIMP MODE WHICH MEANS IT WILL DRIVE ONLY IN 2ND GEAR. WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF. AS SOON AS THE CAR IS SHIFTED FROM PARK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I PULLED THE CODE… P1749 - Transmission Control Unit Incorrect Coded. I DO NOT HAVE THE VAG CODE READER TO SCAN THE ACTUAL TRANSMISSION CODES. COULD BE A SMALL THING WRONG OR MAY MEAN REBUILDING/REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. I DO NOT KNOW. EXTERIOR: The exterior is in average condition. A few scratches as expected on a 1996 used car but no dents or major dings. Could do with a good polish and detail to restore the shine to the paint. FRONT BUMPER HAS THE BOTTOM PLASTIC GRILL MISSING. RIGHT SIDE TURN SIGNAL COVER MISSING PLS LOOK AT THE PICTURES CAREFULLY AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. INTERIOR: Interior is ABOVE AVERAGE. Leather seats are in good condition. No cracks or rips. Carpets are clean also. PLS LOOK AT THE PICTURES CAREFULLY AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS: Heater and A/C work well; Power door locks, power seats, power windows all function properly Radio does not work. TIRES: 4 matching tires with above average tread Brakes: Not inspected but no shakes or vibration detected SUMMARY: Aside from the transmission issues, this car once repaired still has lots of life left. Alternatively, can be used for parts. WARRANTY I have tried to disclose all I know about the car including its flaws. This is a 1996 car and there may be other maintenance items with the car that have not manifested yet. I am selling the car with NO WARRANTIES what so ever. The car has a clear NJ TITLE. DEPOSIT The successful bidder is expected to remit a $300 deposit within 24hrs of auction close. The balance can be paid when the car is picked up.
