Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GREAT LOOKING 1968 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE (REAL PHS DOCUMENTED GTO CONV.), SHOWING 28,876 MILES ON THE ODOMETER THAT JUST STOPS TRAFFIC EVERY TIME IT RUMBLES DOWN THE ROAD. FACTORY 4 SPEED CAR THAT RUNS/DRIVES GREAT AND CAN BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE! FACTORY OPTIONS: Power steering Power convertible top Manual brakes Dual exhaust Hide-away headlights Factory 4 speed manual transmission Black bucket seat interior 15" Pontiac RALLY II wheels with radial tires This 1968 GTO Convertible has been adult owned and enjoyed throughout in the midwest. I've had it for the last few months and have been working on it sporadically. When I got it, it was missing emblems, needed paint and a good cleaning overall but was a solid running/driving car. Once I sent it out to my shop, the old paint was mostly removed and the car was repainted almost entirely and was shot with new clearcoat throughout, which right now looks very good for a driver. I then cleaned and lightly detailed the motor compartment a bit, adjusting the carburetor and checking the brakes in the process. Then I had some other small tlc done on the car and right now it's a very presentable driver as you can see in the pictures. This is really a VERY SHARP cruiser that you can easily hop into and take anywhere you like. Interior is in GOOD overall condition. Seats have been reupholstered some years ago, in a different pattern than stock as you can see, but have no rips. Door panels were also redone in similar style and are in good shape. Nice dash pad that was reskinned. Presentable older carpeting. Decent steering wheel with some usual cracks. Convertible top is older and very presentable, except for one 2" rip at the rear left side. Overall a very presentable driver quality interior! Underside has never been coated and seems to be in pretty good shape overall with GOOD floorboards, GOOD frame rails and EXCELLENT trunk pan. Under the hood, the original YS 400 motor is gone (I CAN PUT YOU IN TOUCH WITH THE PREVIOUS ORIGINAL OWNER THAT SUPPOSEDLY STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL #'S MATCHING MOTOR IN HIS GARAGE), replaced by another motor that is virtually all stock with NO performance modifications and runs great. Transmission is a 4 speed with Hurst shifter and rear end seems to be stock with good highway gears. The car runs/drives nicely and starts at the turn of the key. Runs great and idles great. Transmission shifts nice and smooth with a good clutch. Brakes stop well. Steering is nice with some minor play in it, and the car rides very well. I've mostly driven it around town here and there, and a few times on the highway and the car will easily do 65-70 mph all day. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up VERY GOOD with good luster for a nice driver with some minor imperfections here and there since this is not a showcar paintjob. VIN number was reassigned by the state of KY and it has a new plate with original vin on the door jamb. Not working: headlights, dash gauges not working (clock, speedo/odo, only fuel gauge works). Missing: jack (I have a spare), stereo, driver's side door panel emblem. Dash pad needs to be secured properly. Convertible top works well but very slow. That's about all I was able to notice. It may need a few other tiny things as any other used car, so please keep that in mind. THIS IS A VERY SHARP LOOKING 1968 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE FACTORY 4 SPEED CAR WITH VIBRANT COLOR AND KILLER CURB APPEAL SO YOU CAN'T MISS IT ANYWHERE YOU TAKE IT. NEARLY TURN-KEY DRIVER THAT YOU CAN ENJOY NOW OR DO SOME TLC DOWN THE LINE!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302 cell or e-mail MBOTERASHV@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
