Thank you and good luck. ***** UP FOR AUCTION IS A GREAT LOOKING 1966 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE SHELBY GT 350 HERTZ RENT-A-RACER TRIBUTE CAR, SHOWING 31,136 MILES ON THE ODOMETER THAT JUST STOPS TRAFFIC EVERY TIME IT RUMBLES DOWN THE ROAD. FACTORY OPTIONS: Manual steering Power convertible top UPGRADED brakes with FRONT DISCS (manual) & Dual reservoir master cylinder Dual exhaust UPGRADED 302ci high-performance motor UPGRADED 4 speed manual transmission Black bucket seat interior ADDED SHELBY GT 350 APPEARANCE PACKAGE (side scoops, hood scoop, stripes, emblems, shelby steering wheel, shelby gas cap, etc.) UPGRADED 15" AMERICAN RACING WHEELS with white letter tires (brand new, the paint hasn't even come off them yet). Please note: wheels/tires do NOT come with the car but can be purchased separately as they are not mine. This 66 Mustang convertible has been adult owned and enjoyed throughout. I've had it for the last few months and have been working on it sporadically. There has been a TON of work done to this car. When I got it, a lot of new sheetmetal was put on it and the vehicle was painted. I had my shop redo the floorboards, coat the entire underside, add the shelby appearance package mentioned above, redid some of the interior with new carpeting and new front seat covers, put in new door panels and armrest pads, new steering wheel. Mechanically, the motor was redone approx. 2500 miles ago, and tranny/rear end were freshened up in the last handful of years from what I was told. The engine compartment received not only a coat of paint, but an appearance and stiffening package with the export brace and monte carlo bar. The outside received all new emblems, new bumpers front and rear. Overall there have been close to $15k spent on this car by the previous owner and myself in labor and parts. This is really a VERY SHARP cruiser that is about 90% there and is waiting for someone to finish up the smaller details and get it up to the next level. THERE IS HARDLY A BUBBLE ON THE OUTER BODY OF THIS CAR! Interior is in VERY GOOD overall condition. Seats have been reupholstered. New door panels/armrests. Nice dash pad. New carpeting. New steering wheel. Convertible top is about 3 years old and looks nearly new. Overall a very nicely presentable high-end driver quality interior! Underside received a complete NEW exhaust/mufflers, and NEW FLOORBOARDS in the last couple of years. Then it was all coated with thick undercoating. The suspension also got NEW shocks all around, and springs not too long ago. Under the hood lies the slightly built high-performance 302ci motor with mild camshaft and some minor internal modifications that runs great. Transmission is a 4 speed with Hurst shifter and rear end has been lightly beefed up as well. The car runs/drives nicely and starts at the turn of the key. Runs great and idles great. Transmission shifts nice and smooth with a good clutch, although shifter linkage could use adjustmet. Brakes stop well. Steering is nice with some play in it of course, and the car rides very well. I've mostly driven it around town here and there, and I would go through it thoroughly before taking it on any extended trip. SOLID FLOORBOARDS, FRAME RAILS, TORQUE BOXES, SHOCK TOWERS AND TRUNK. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up GOOD with good luster for a nice driver but it has various small imperfections as you would expect (I've had it lightly wetsanded and buffed out but you can still see a lot of tiny scratches, marks and other imperfections from not so perfect body preparation). Shifter linkage needs to be adjusted as it gets stuck at times. Motor has the lightest tap every once in a while. Missing: antenna, spare/jack, door locks (I have them, not installed yet). Not working: some gauges, radio, a couple of lights may need bulbs replaced, signals, wipers, backup lights (not connected). Could use wheel alignment. Front wheels rub fenders a bit during turns. Driver's side door opens from inside only. Couple of tiny patches in the trunk by inner wheelhouses and inner rockers have some scaly surface rust, that's about it. That's about all I was able to notice. It may need a few other tiny things as any other used car, so please keep that in mind. THIS IS A VERY SHARP LOOKING 1966 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE SHELBY GT 350 HERTZ RENT-A-RACER TRIBUTE CAR WITH 31K MILES SHOWING ON THE ODOMETER AND KILLER CURB APPEAL SO YOU CAN'T MISS IT ANYWHERE YOU TAKE IT. LOTS OF RESTORATION WORK DONE AND GREAT CAR FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST TO ENJOY NOW OR FINISH WITH SOME TLC!. Contact me at (917) 749-4302 cell or e-mail MBOTERASHV@AOL.COM. Auction may be stopped at any time.
