Vehicle Detail

This is not a collectors car, or an everyday driver, it certainly wont get you any action, and its not pretty but it is fun. It is probably best suited for someone needing basic transport on summer break. This is my most loved vehicle yet. This car is an adventure and in the wrong hands that could be a bad thing so you need to be aware of that when buying. I have been on several road trips in this car, both alone and with friends, and none of us really remember the destination much nor do we talk about what we did when we were there but we always speak fondly of the journey. The car just puts a smile on your face. You expect nothing from this car, it owes you very little, and it always outdoes itself. The nitty gritty... -The fuel pump is not working right now so it wont start. I ran the car about 6 months ago so something happened to it while it sat. -It needs a new clutch and probably a new fuel pump. The fuel pump is the only part on this that has ever let me down but has yet to strand me, I have always been able to get it going again. -The suspension is basically shot. Though the back sits very high and is very bouncy (kinda fun.) -The odometer only turns when its colder than 40F outside so the mileage is incorrect. If I had to guess, I would say this car probably has 220,000 or 240,000 miles on it not 180,000. -The speedometer works but is takes skill to read properly (if it reads 55mph actual speed is 45mph, reads 70=55, reads 85=70. roughly) -The convertible top works great and is new (it needs the window cut in, the glass window with defrost is included with car.) -The wiper blades work pretty nice. -The interior is actually in decent shape with the exception of wear on the seats and a wirey hole where the radio was. It looks pretty good. -The interior has never been wet (unlike most cabrios) - One tire has a slow leak. It probably should get new tires soon. I have a few extra rims for it that are included. -Every body panel has been damaged at some point and some of them were even repaired slightly. -The entire car is painted with a sort of rough paint, actually I think it might be truck bed liner. It makes repairing damage or scratches easy (some people say pointless.) -So long as you carry a 12v compressor (for flat tires) and a hammer (to reshape rims if you hit a pot hole) this car will always get you where you are going. Funny story; I had just hit a huge pot hole and pulled off the side of the road when a van passed me, I was straightening the rim with my hammer, and the people inside the van were laughing, I'm sure it was a funny sight, but I saw them again a few miles up the road with a flat and with out a spare tire. -This is an easy car to maintain and would be great for someone starting out that needs to learn the basics. -Depending on the driver the gas mileage can be 25mpg to 45mpg. It just depends on the person driving. Count on 25; I seem to have a talent for maximizing gas mileage -No radio so no distractions. -It has ac but I never really tried it but maybe once and I can't remember how well it worked. Its a convertible. -The heat works but in the winter time you need to devote all heat to defrost. I have learned to like it now. Dress like you would if you were going for a walk in what ever the weather is and you'll be fine. I always keep insulated driving gloves on hand. -This car handles well on snow. I live in the country and I drive no matter the road condition. the only thing bad about this car in winter is that it handles well enough you always catch up to all the slow people in their giant 4X4's. -No cup holders. I don't let people eat or drink in my cars. -Non smoking car. -The car does not have a lot of power, so don't expect to zoom all over the place. It takes a certain level of skill to drive. -For the small size of the car it can fit an amazing amount of stuff and trust me I have carried alot in this car. -It accepts a European plate on the back which is what I used when I dove it. Luckily I speak German. The long and the short of it is this; it is an ageing car that loves adventure, its dependable, easy to please, and it has more character than most people. Pick up only in Salem, Ohio. Any questions, feel free to ask. Jeff 330 429 5081
