Vehicle Detail

For sale is my personal 1986 Suzuki GSX-R750, an unusual survivor and the lightest Gixxer 750 ever made (388 pounds dry). This bike has only 12,309 miles or 500 miles a year! Why buy one of these that a kid has beat? Instead, buy one that is already almost in showroom condition. These bikes were literally race bikes with lighting kits tacked on. This bike needs nothing as I would not hesitate to drive it across country right now. I am the original owner as I bought brand new off of Grand Prix Suzuki’s showroom in Santa Clara back in 1986. Back then, I really wasn’t tracking the new street bikes as they were all big, bloated battle tanks weighing 550 to 700+ pounds, whoop-de-doo. Then I started to notice the new Honda Interceptors, sweet, but still a wee bit too fancy pants for me. Then I saw my first GSXR. WOW! Suzuki got it right and built a bike like I would: take a race bike and slap the minimum street legal stuff on it to get it registered. I had one in my truck the next day, news to the missus I might add. Why am I selling her? Because you can’t have one of everything as plain as that. You would be hard pressed to find a first year GSXR-750 in better unmolested, unretired shape. Always ridden by a mature adult (me) and never beaten by a kid. Paint on tank is flawless and there is zero rust in the tank or anywhere else on the bike for that matter. Always stored inside in the dark heated garage, fuel drained every year before annual storage. Valves just checked by dealer and all are within tolerance. I took off the useless rear view mirrors and put on one from a aftermarket shop that actually lets you see behind you and doesn’t vibrate (stockers are included). . This bike is a rolling conversation piece, just wait until you pull up at a bike hangout like Alice’s, guaranteed to draw the biggest crowd of any bike there. Always insured, NEVER down, clean title in my hand. Oil always changed 3k with full synthetic. Will through in a few new oil filters too. Here is a list of what extras on included: (probably more, but I can’t remember) Lockhart Steering Dampener The Rarest of the Rare: RKA Color-matched 3-Piece Luggage Set, made of unobtanium Bub Exhaust / Re-Jetted by Dealer when new Fox Radar Detector with Super-Loud Audible Alert Gorilla Alarm System with Super Load Alarm or Silent Mode with Remote Pager Cruise Control Throttle Lock LED Turn signals all around New Gel Battery I have all the original parts including the exhaust , turn signals and rear grab bar Here is a You Tube like to a clip of her running: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quqoW2LvGts Not interested on any trades, I have too many projects already. GSX-R750 (G) 1986 The 1986 received a 25 mm longer swing arm to help calm the handling. Apart from a modified belly pan and upgraded headlamps there is very little difference between the 1985 and 1986 models. This is the first year the model was introduced to the USA. Engine Type: 16-valve, 4-stroke, DOHC in-line four Power: 106.00 HP @ 10500 RPM Torque: 53.8 ft. lbs. @ 10000 RPM Displacement: 749.00cc (45.70 cubic inches) Compression: 9.8:1 Bore x Stroke: 70.0 x 48.7 mm (2.8 x 1.9 inches) Fuel System: Carburetion Ignition: Full Transistor Cooling System: Air/oil Cooled Gearbox: 6-speed (1 down, 5 up) Final Drive: Chain Dry Weight: 388 pounds Seat Height: 755 mm (29.7 in) Overall Height: 1,200 mm (47.2 in) Overall Length: 2,130 mm (83.9 in) Overall Width: 620 mm (24.4 in) Ground Clearance: 140 mm (5.5 in) Wheelbase: 1,425 mm (56.1 in) Front Tire: 110/80-18 Rear Tire: 140/70-18 Front Brakes: Hydraulic twin disc with dual opposed piston calipers Rear Brakes: Single disc, hydraulic Fuel Capacity:5.02 gallons The bad: The bike did fall over slowly and gently in the wet grass when I was washing it the first week I had her, DOH! Minor crack on kick stand side sidecover, easy eBay replacement. Minor small scratches on other side bottom panel from moving bike around for 24 years.
