...TOO MANY PROJECTS....SADLY THIS ONE MUST GO....This is a VERY NICE quality 1948 B-1-B Pilothouse Pickup...108" Wheelbase....In 1948 Dodge made 3 different half ton G.V.W.'s...This one is the heaviest of the 3 with a 4850# GVW...It has the original 6 cyl... 218 cu. in. Flathead in it with a 3 speed manual transmission, and this Baby just PURRS with NEW Exhaust from the manifold back...Dodge rated this engine at 95 h.p. but the A.M.A. rated it at 25.35 h.p. according to a NEW COPY of the 1948-1949 Dodge Driver's manual I also have with this truck...It has new Points-Condenser-Rotor-Cap-Coil-Spark Plugs-Plug Wires and Fuel Pump----and the Starter and Generator were Re-Built less than 4,000 miles ago....Needs Brake work ...BUT I also have NEW Brake Shoes and Wheel cyl. kits for all 4 wheels that go with it.....The body is in good condition...Just a guesstimate..But I'd say probably 75-80% of the cab has been Media blasted by us down to bare metal....There is a little fiberglass in a couple spots but not a lot by any means...I'm just trying to be Honest...tires are weather checked...Box is good but some time in the past someone(Not Me) put a steel plate over the bed and Sadly put a grain gate in the center of the Tailgate( pics of this)...The interior needs some attention...The seat back is good...The seat itself needs recovering....This was Dodge's Innovative New "Safety Cab" Design for 1948...The seat was designed higher and it was the First to also have a "Height" adjustable seat which vastly improved Driver Vision...The added "Rear Corner Windows" made driver vision 360 degrees....Hence the name "PilotHouse"...The B-1 series made only in 1948 and 1949 also bragged of it's New "Cab Forward" design.....By moving the front axle back distributing the cargo weight more evenly to the axles, Dodge could now ultimately increase cargo weight....Which led to the also new Deeper Cargo Box....The B-1-B PilotHouse is Truly a Classic Pickup with an abundance of Style....Making it a highly Prized "Blast from the Past".....It has a VERY NICE Ram hood ornament .(NO PITTING)..I also have the original driver's side Door Hinge mount rear view mirror(Pic)....Don't miss your Chance to own this truck....It also has a near NEW battery...There is some damage to the hinge point on the drivers side of the hood (shown) 2 small dents in the back of the cab (shown) and a couple places where the running boards are rusted (shown) but the running boards are pretty solid really....This pickup needs minimal work...$500 due at close of bids..Non-Refundable with remainder due within 7 days.....Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping.........
