1968 PONTIAC GTO CONVERTIBLE VIN: 242678B128422 50 IMAGES ARE SHOWN BELOW THE WRITTEN DESCRIPTION Here is a great looking 1968 GTO convertible that still has the original numbers matching drive train with a nice bright paint job, new top and new interior. The completely rebuilt 400 cubic inch V-8 engine is coupled to an overhauled bullet proof Turbo-400 transmission which moves this GTO along smartly and with no hesitation. It produces massive power, shifts smoothly and exhibits no problems such as noises, leaks, smoking or any other indication of mechanical problems. The car stops quickly in a straight line and has recently passed New York States rigid safety inspection. It is driven on occasion and it is currently registered. This scarce Pontiac came well equipped with power steering and brakes and top, the His/Hers shifter feature, Hide-away head lights, Rally II wheels, driver's remote mirror, and an interior map light. Other important notes are that this is a fully documented 2 owner car which includes the original bill of sale and manuals among many other paperwork items that came with the car when it was delivered new. The mileage is original and so is the spare tire in the trunk! All of the body panels appear to be original and the only noted metal repair was to a very small hole in the drivers side floor. It is a driven car so there are a couple of minor imperfections in the finish. The top and windows all operate correctly, it started right up, idled smoothly and it held an even temperature on a very warm day. The original radio (which is present) was supplemented with a neatly installed stereo CD system employing the original speaker locations and there is a small cluster of of three additional gauges. One minor point is that the carpeted areas and seat belts appear much darker in person! It is painted in black primer and has no fiberglass or undercoating. Obviously it does not have the stamped impressions of an NOS one, but it is solid.
