Vehicle Detail
OK folks. Here it is. One of 644 GTA's created in Gunmetal Grey! Forget the Twenty-Year Anniversary models, or the Indy 500 models. This one is rarer than all of them! This color is the creme de la creme of GTA Trans Ams. It also has the rare medium grey LEATHER interior. And if that isn't enough, it also has the WS-6 performance suspension package. Put this with the ORIGINAL 5.7 V-8, 3.42 posi rear, and you have one of the hottest 'New Classic' muscle cars of all time! These cars had the fastest ET, sans the Z-06 Corvette in 1989. This one is good for 13.50 quarter miles right out of the box! The good thing is that this car was never abused. However, it was somewhat neglected. The engine in this car is original, with a fresh re-build. It was bored .060 over with new pistons, rings, bearings, timing set, gaskets, etc. It RUNS AWESOME!! The former owner removed the catalytic converter, and welded in a 'test' pipe. This makes the car perform outstanding, while adding a VERY 'throaty' sound to the exhaust note. Interior wise, the GTA was treated to new lower front seat inserts. These are also LEATHER. I was halfway considering keeping this car but, I have another classic project on the way, and need to clear the field for the next. This car is SURE to be one of the 'HOT' new classics. The A/C was converted to R-134a, and works like new. The stereo was swapped for a Pioneer AM-FM CD unit that sounds GREAT! This car also has the highly covetted Premium Seats, with lumbar, and adjustable headrests. This was a HIGH DOLLAR car in 1989, and only set in the showroom for six hours before somebody bought it. The tires on the car are good, with about 50 percent tread left. It drives out perfectly, and the brakes are like new. While this is a VERY nice car, it is not perfect. The 'dings' you can count on one hand: two. The driver's seat also has a couple of tears which were repaired, but can still be seen at where your thigh rests. Most people don't even notice. The dash is in EXCELLENT condition with NO cracks or wear. This is a T-top car, and both tops are in GREAT shape! The original storage bags are also there. I also have the original owner's manual, and all four ORIGINAL keys, including the two VATS ignition keys. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this car an 9.0. Check out this source page for all the rest fo the story. http://www.gtasourcepage.com/89RPOFigures.html Good luck to the happy buyer of this car! I envy you!
