In this lighter application, the 270hp and 330 ft.lbs of torque is perfect for towing duty, and gives the 4Runner good acceleration and smooth, no-fuss power around town. In fact, in mixed driving this engine is less stressed than the 4.0 V6 and because it's not working as hard, it can actually deliver better real world fuel economy. A recent in-town errand run yielded 19.5 mpg without really trying, and nearly 21 on the hwy. Pretty impressive for a V8, 4WD truck based SUV! While this is a clear advantage, the disadvantage of enclosed carrier transport is greater cost. However, for high-value, rare, or exotic vehicles, (especially convertibles,) we highly recommend this type of transport. Plus, your vehicle will generally arrive in the same highly detailed exterior condition as when it left our facility.
