1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Offered here is one 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2 door, with Landau vinyl roof. Very good condition overall. I would rate this car an 8 on a scale of 1-10. Original 305 V8 engine with 86,005 original miles. Original Turbo 200 transmission. Air conditioning equipment is intact and original. Cruise control works. AM/FM cassette player in original dash opening. Seats, headliner, and carpet are all in original, clean condition. Trunk is clean with original jack and liner. Exterior of vehicle is finished with DuPont Imron, white in color. The car was repainted in the Spring of 1993, has not seen rain or snow since then. Very clean, finish shines as it should. The wheels and tires were installed when the car was repainted, still in excellent condition. 90% tread left on tires, no cracks or sun damage. Bumpers and lenses are original. Glass is also original, tinted as installed at the factory. Landau top is also in clean, original condition; no rips in material. Interior of the vehicle is all original. Car has factory bucket seats with the center console, a rare option for these cars. Original vinyl is in excellent condtion with some minor wear, no major rips or sun damage. Dash has some cracks due to age, but still looks great. AM/FM radio is not original, but is connected to original speakers and functions as it should. Headliner is clean and original, but has separated from its backing (very easy repair). This car has been in clean, dry storage since the Fall of 1993. Runs and drives, but has not been registered since that time. Vehicle starts as it should, runs smoothly. Transmission shifts into forward and reverse gears as it should. Brakes functional. Needs exhaust system from converter to rear. Air conditioning works but probably needs recharging; does not blow cold air. Has some bubbling under the Landau top. Also has a slight dent in the passenger's side front fender (see photos). Power antenna not functioning. Passenger's side window motor not functioning. Please see photos and use your own knowledge and judgement. Again, this car is in very good condition for being 31 years old.
