Vehicle Detail
This beautiful 2003 BMW R1100S is offered in excellent condition with just under 6,500 miles on the clock. I am the second owner, having purchased it about three years ago from a local BMW dealer. It is Boxer Cup spec, minus the carbon fiber valve covers and graphics. This means it features sport suspension, a full Laser exhaust, steering damper and a belly fairing. It has the 5.5 inch wide rear wheel with 180/55 ZR17 tire, 120/70 ZR 17 front. The Metzler tires are in excellent shape. Carbon fiber front fender, rear hugger, headlight surround, center of tank, heel guards and passenger seat cover compliment the custom paint which is beautiful in design and execution. The wheels are custom powder coated. The windscreen is new, as are the gel battery and K&N air filter. A BMW expandable tank bag and BMW cover are included. There are a few small gouges around the lifting spools on the belly fairing, evident in the photos, and a few scratches on the valve covers, under the protectors. These were present when I acquired the bike. In addition, I installed the peg lowering kit shown, to accomodate my long legs. This bike runs perfectly, with a nice, not loud, exhaust note. BMW claim a top speed of 140 mph, which I have not attempted, but I can report that 100 mph cruising is stable and relaxed, even more so at the 85 mph level, where highway traffic seems to flow, with plenty of power (and brakes) in reserve. This is a non-ABS bike, so fewer service concerns. 6,000 mile service was done, including all fluids changed and valve adjustment, at 5,975 miles, by me, a retired Jaguar, Audi and Fiat ASE certified master technician. The bike is garage kept. I am selling this beauty because I don't have time to put it to it's best use; effortless high-speed long-distance touring. Winning bidder is required to pay $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction close, via pay pal. Balance due at time of pick up with certified check, money order, or cash. Pick up required within 10 days of auction close. Bike is located in Fort Lauderdale, Fl., and is available for local pick up only. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, and solely at the buyer's risk. If a third party shipper is used, the purchase price must be paid in full before release of vehicle to shipper. Thanks, good luck. Email any questions to carroll_thomas@att.net.
