I am reluctantly offering my 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS for sale. It is my company car and the company wants me traveling in a newer vehicle. I purchased this car in August 2004 from a collector in Boston with 10,000 miles on the odometer. When I purchased the car in '04, it had never been in the rain and the owner was using paper floor mats to protect the originals. In the last 5+ years I have added 110,000 miles of highway driving to visit my out-of-town clients... mostly gobbling up interstate highway at 1,900 RPM. This Impala has been expertly maintained throughout my ownership and always garaged. The engine was switched to MOBIL 1 Synthetic when new, by the owner an I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles (with Mobil 1) since then. The original owner replaced the stock sound system with a Sony CDX-U404 10 CD Changer unit, with amplifier and sub woofer mounted in the trunk. This was a top-of-the line set up in 1996. The original owner also replaced the stock muffler system with a set of Flowmasters which provide the perfect rumble for this car. The owner also purchased a high end custom car cover for the Impala. I added black Lloyd floor mats with silver stitched imala logos when I took delivery saving the original floor mats as new. The one-of-a-kind matching coffee mug was my creation. Not long after purchasing the car, I had an unrepairable flat tire leaving me with 3 orphan Goodrich Comp T/A radials in that BFG was now building the Vector Series Radials... so I bought a new set. I later found two more matching Comp T/A's at a swap meet. BODY CONDITION: The body is dent free and rust free. I have a close personal friend in the Paintless Dent Removal business and I can guarantee that there are no dings in the body. The silky black paint is 80% original, I had the front and rear bumpers, driver's mirror and hood refinished at various times during my ownership to to rock chips or parking lot rash... I'm pretty fussy about my stuff...I collect, race and restore automobiles as a hobby. The car shows like it is new. MECHANICAL CONDITION: The engines runs great as does the car. There is no smoke from the engine, no major leaks of any kind and the transmission shifts as it should. A/C is Ice Cold. Limited Slip differential works as it should. INTERIOR CONDITION: Because this car has seen very little in the way of passengers other than me the interior is outstanding. Dash is perfect, as are the door panels, reat seat and passenger seat. The driver's seat has a broken thread in the stitching which as started to unravel a bit. There is a very small wear mark on the leather back rest and a worn spot in the carpeting deepin the footwell area caused by my left foot... this could be repaired using a small piece of carpet from under the seat to make the repair. TRUNK CONTITION: The trunk condition is excellent and it has always been dry and rust free. ELECTRICAL CONDITION: Everything on this car operates as it should, the Sony CD player works great. Occasionally the digital odometer fails to appear... a simple tap on the dash with your finger brings it back. TIRE CONDITION: The PRIMEWELL 255/50ZR17 PZ900's are almpost new with 80%+ tread.
