Vehicle Detail
1962 Imperial LeBaron. ORIGINAL BLACK PLATE CALIFORNIA CAR-Best one for the $ This car is a MAGNIFICENT DRIVER and a GOOD LOOKER. It has NO OPERATING ISSUES. DRIVE IT ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW ! STILL HAS ORIGINAL RED LEATHER IN GOOD SHAPE-NO RIPS or TEARS ! One Repaint that still looks ok-and will polish out even better. I bought it locally from the previous (second) owner, who had owned and cared for it for nearly 25 years. It had sat for about 8 years when I found it. I put fresh gas in it, jumped the battery and it started. When I got it home, I did the following: 1. Bought and installed 4 brand new tires 2. Removed and Rebuilt the carburetor 3. Removed and replaced distributor with a Rebuilt one 4. New Plugs 5. New Points 6. New Muffler 7. Removed, Flow-Tested (passed) and Repaired Radiatior 8. New Fan Clutch 9. New Thermostat (correct 180 degree-and it runs cool) 10. New upper and lower radiator hoses and heater hoses. Here’s what’s good: 1. HVAC operates correctly in ALL positions, but does not get cold 2. All 4 power windows work (but Right Rear only goes a little bit) 3. All power door locks work 4. Power Vent windows work (but Pass side inop) 5. All lights and electroluminescent dash works (except dome light) 6. Power Antenna works 7. AM Radio plays (but search-tune inop) 8. It is registered until June 2011 9. Auto Pilot (Cruise Control) works BOTH WAYS-as designed Here’s what it needs: 1. AC compressor clutch does not engage, but it works if you “hot-wire” it, which means probably a bad connection or a bad HVAC switch. 2. There is a small dent/crease in the right front fender. 3. There is a part of the trunk lip that is rusty (because the car was left partly out of the garage) and needs welding-- NOTICE IN THE PICTURE SHOWING THIS PART, I AM STANDING IN THE TRUNK-IT'S COMPLETELY SOLID. 4. There is a little bubbling on the driver’s door (most of them do this) MY BODY SHOP WILL DO ALL REQUIRED BODY REPAIRS ON THE WHOLE CAR FOR $1000 (ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS) SO IT’S NOT A BIG DEAL. 5. Some stainless inside the car needs to be replaced. 6. Power seat does not work (it clicks but does not move, although it worked when I bought it). 7. You may not see it at first, but both tail lights are cracked. 8. Needs horn ring. 9. There is pitting on the chrome. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE CAR THAT HAS NO DRIVING OR OPERATING ISSUES, THIS IS YOUR CAR. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SUPER RELIABLE DRIVE-TRAIN (LEGENDARY MOPAR 413 WITH TORQUFLITE 727) THIS IS YOUR CAR. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NOBODY ELSE HAS BECAUSE THEY ONLY MADE 1449 OF THEM, THIS IS YOUR CAR. This is MY CAR. It is Registered, Insured and Titled in MY NAME in the state of California. There are no liens on this car. I'm just changing my priorities. On Jun-13-10 at 13:35:14 PDT, seller added the following information: DUE TO NUMEROUS REQUESTS ASKING ABOUT PICTURES OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT, I TOOK SOME PICTURES OF BOTH TODAY. IF YOU SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS I WILL BE HAPPY TO SEND THEM TO YOU. THERE IS NO RUST WHAT-SO-EVER ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE, FLOOR PANS, ROCKER PANELS OR TRUNK PAN. REPEAT NONE! I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THESE SHOTS IN THE ORIGINAL LISTING, BUT I GOT CARRIED AWAY WITH SHOWING THE FACT THAT THE DOOR HANDLE SPRINGS AND STOPS WERE STILL INTACT-A VERY RARE THING TO SEE ON THESE CARS. ALSO, I WAS WRONG ABOUT THE DOME LIGHT-IT WORKS-I JUST HAD THE WRONG BULB IN IT.
