Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a rare (in the USA), 1967 Fiat 500 F. This Fiat 500 was imported into the USA in the mid 1990's from New Zealand. VIN: 110F 1200354 I purchased this vehicle in early 2005 as an addition to the other "fun" vehicles that I owned. I took it out for weekend drives around the block but nothing more than that. Restoration on this Fiat was started last summer and was it was my intent to begin restoration again after winter. Now I am selling this Fiat, the last of three. Drivetrain This Fiat 500 had an original 499cc (2-cylinder air-cooled) engine with a 4-speed (non-synchronized) gearbox. I purchased a 599cc engine and synchronized gearbox as an upgrade. This upgrade allows for more power to keep up with daily driving conditions and eliminates the need for double-clutching. The new engine and gearbox have been installed and function very well. Many new parts were installed on the engine prior to installation in the vehicle (tune up, filters, fluids, etc.). Exterior The exterior of this Fiat 500 is in solid condition with the exception of a few small areas (body panels only) where rust is present. The frame and under-pan of this vehicle are very solid with only a minor presence of surface oxidation. The area that displays the worst-case of rust is located at the bottom of the right-side fender. The areas of rust on the body panels do not affect the frame or structural components of the vehicle. Body work was begun mid-last year but was not completed. All work was done with a very minimal amount of body filler to maintain the integrity of this vehicle and prevent pre-mature deterioration of the restoration. The body is in a light primer coat at this time. Wheels/Tires The tires of this Fiat 500 are close to new in appearance. The wheels are solid but do show mild surface oxidation. There are two wheel caps but they do show signs of age. Exterior Accessories All glass is in very good shape and has been removed in preparation of restoration. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition with no visible signs of rust and have also been removed. All other trim work is in good condition. Parts/Accessories Over the past year, I have been acquiring many new OEM parts to tune up the engine, replace the exhaust system, and attend to other drive-train related maintenance. I have many Italian-made OEM parts (see photos) that will be included with the sale. Interior The interior is all original. The door panels are in good condition. The seats are decent but a new set of covers and new carpet would make the interior look outstanding. The steering wheel does have a minor fracture located at the top of the wheel. Electrical System The electrical system works well with no known issues. Conclusion This Fiat is a great project for those with a little time on their hands. Most everything is included in this auction to complete the restoration of this Fiat. The body, although it does have a few areas of rust, is very solid as is the underside and frame. The engine and gearbox have been upgraded and tuned up to provide optimal performance. This vehicle has a clear Illinois title. Auction Details This Fiat 500 is priced to sell with a realistic reserve price. Bid only if you have the funds at the time you submit your bid. If your eBay account has a feedback rating of less than 10 points, you must e-mail me prior to bidding on this auction. Failure to comply will result in your bid being removed. In as much as I would like to get a price close to what I have invested in this vehicle, I believe this Fiat 500 is priced quite fair given the few issues that need to be addressed. This vehicle is being offered for sale by a private party. No additional charges, fees, or taxes will be added to the final winning auction price. The Buyer is responsible for any and all taxes in his/her county and/or state. A $500 deposit is due no later than 5 working days after the auction’s end. Full payment is due no later than 10 working days after the auction’s end. Release of this vehicle, along with keys, and documentation will not be provided until full payment has been received and has cleared. Every attempt has been made to accurately describe this vehicle's current condition. Serious buyer's are welcome (and encouraged) to view this vehicle in person (no tire kickers, please). Questions regarding this vehicle are welcomed and will be answered promptly. This Fiat 500 is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for organizing and covering the costs of transportation/Shipping. I would suggest www.UShip.com as a resource for shippers. This vehicle is 4' x 4' x 10' @ 1000 lbs. These vehicle fit well into enclosed trailers as apposed to full-sized car carriers with the dual-ramp trailers. On Jun-06-10 at 19:24:24 PDT, seller added the following information: All brake cylinders and pads were replaced around 2004. At this time, the brake system has lost pressure from sitting. The emergency brake does function well. A new set of brake cylinders (master and wheels) are also included for future use. All glass is present (no missing or damages pieces). On Jun-06-10 at 19:33:14 PDT, seller added the following information: The Gas tank was replaced around 2004. A new fuel line from tank to engine was installed when the 599 cc engine was installed last year. Fuel pump works very well and a new fuel filter was installed with supply fuel lines. On Jun-06-10 at 19:39:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Answer to more questions: This Fiat 500 does an alternator to deliver optimal electrical performance. The ignition coil has been replaced and most (if not all) of the ignition parts and wires. There is also a new ground strap.
