Vehicle Detail

I have a reputation of giving long winded descriptions of cars that I list here on ebay. But I like folks to know exactly what they are bidding on so that there are no unpleasant surprises. And everyone has always been happy with their purchase from me. I've sold about 30 cars from about $5k to $40k over the last few years on here. I am a 1st generation Camaro FREAK. I've been restoring them over 30 years now and I'm about to get the hang of it. I rate my cars as "A" , "B" or "C" cars. An "A" is a National contender, never, ever to be driven. A "B" is almost too nice to drive and will win consistantly at the local shows. A "C" is a super nice driver that will pick up a trophy now and then. This car is a "C" type car. I have a lot of requests for good builders. So sometimes I just take a car up to the point where all the hard, scary metal work is done and someone can finish it out to their own taste. That's the case here. On to the car. X-44 base car, 727 Ivory standard interior, 65 Olympic gold paint, 1243 vin. V-8. I believe it was originally a 307 with powerglide (both long gone), open 10 bolt, mono leaf rear end. Manual drum brakes, power steering, console shift and factory A/C. I started by stripping it down to bare metal. Tail panel was good, good original deck lid, good original spoiler, truck pan was weak, so I replaced it. Good trunk braces, inner and outer wheel wells, trunk extensions, dropoffs and shock areas. Nice frame rails. I bought new quarter skins but just couldn't bring myself to cut off the originals. They were really nice with just a few pinholes behind the wheels. So I just cut patch panels out of the skins and sewed them in with my mig. Nice roof and sail panels. Nice rockers. Floor pans were weak, so I replaced them. Nice doors. Nice fenders. Nice inner fenders. Nice firewall and dash panel. New core support, new lower valance, new fender extensions, new header panel, new battery tray and new cowl hood. All metal work was done with a plasma cutter and mig welder using solid core steel wire (No fluxcore ever).Once all the cutting, welding and grinding were done, the rough in body work was completed and a (buff colored) rust inhibiting polyestor primer was applied. It was then long boarded and primed 2 times with 80 grit and once with 180. A coat of black lacquer primer was then applied, followed with a guide coat of grey lacquer primer. It could be blocked with 400, prepped and painted as is for a nice paint job or primed and blocked once or twice more to make it super slick. The bottom of the car was undercoated with truck bedliner. Included with the car is: Nice original door glass, quarter glass and back glass (tinted),with nice tracks and regulators New tinted and shaded windshield(the black lines in the picture are the reflection of overhead power lines) Nice straight original front and back glass stainless moldings with new clip set Nice straight original drip rail moldings New rocker moldings New wheel well moldings Nice console and shifter Recoverable buckets and back seat Nice original grille(has a couple of small cracks, easy repair), headlight bezels, park lights and tail lights New exterior door handles, new drivers door mirror New emblems (new SS emblems included but car is not an original SS) New door weatherstrip New roofrail weatherstrip New trunk weatherstrip New door fuzzies New body bumper kit Nice original wiper arms New side markers and bezels New quarter louvers 15x7 Rallys New front and rear bumpers with new stainless bolt set and good original brackets The previous owner claimed the motor and transmission ran out good. He said he pulled them out of another running car and set them in this car. I checked the #'s and looks to be a 1969 307 and a Turbo 350. I have not hooked everything up and tried to start it. Probably best to assume they need built and if they turn out to be good, great. There is also an original 4 core radiator included (probably needs to be recored). New heater hoses were installed while the front clip was off. A new 3/8" stainless fuel sending unit has been installed. Will need all new brakes done. Dash pad is junk. The rest of the dash looks to be good and complete. All wiring is intact. Has ign.,door and trunk keys. A good used set of stock shackles is included. All the parts should fit inside the car but I have started installing some of them for transport. This car still has a long way to go,but is a great start. I have a clear Arkansas title in my name. I will require a non-refundable $500.00 deposit via paypal within 24hrs. Balance by bank wire transfer or cash in hand within 5 days. I can store the car inside for a couple of weeks if need be. I can overnight the title if you like once full payment is received. I can help with loading the car most anytime. Feel free to ask any questions or come by and check it out.
