Vehicle Detail

1971 Dodge Charger SE This is a very nice and original 1971 Dodge Charger SE, with just over 66,000 miles on it. The car has had one exterior repaint in the original color. It's a California car, and has always been totally rust-free. It's got the numbers-matching 383 and 727 auto trans, and it runs great. It's got the very-rare 2-tone blue leather interior with bucket seats and the center buddy seat. The fender tag and broadcast sheet are missing, but given the untouched condition of the car, I'm certain that the options on the car are original. Without question, this car has seen excellent care over the years. (More pics below) The specs: VIN #WP29L1EXXXXXX 383 "L" code 2-bbl engine 727 Torqueflite automatic 8-1/4 rear axle with 2.45:1 gears Power steering Power disc brakes Air conditioning A4 Light Gunmetal Gray paint White vinyl canopy top 2-tone blue leather interior Rallye dash with 150 mph speedometer Bucket seats Center "buddy" seat and arm rest Power windows AM radio with rear speaker Rear window defogger Tinted windows 14" rallye wheels (not sure if they're original) Deluxe trunk interior with spare tire cover and side trim panels Non-Original Items: New Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor with electric choke on Chrysler 4-bbl intake Replacement rallye wheel center caps Dual exhaust Radiator overflow bottle Maintenance items such as plug wires, hoses, battery cables, etc. Condition: The car is in excellent mechanical shape. The engine and trans are numbers-matching, and don't look to have ever been out of the car. The engine runs well, with no smoke or noise. The transmission shifts well. The brakes work well also. The headlight covers open and close like they're supposed to. The tires and exhaust are nearly new. The paint and body are good quality. The paint job is basecoat/clearcoat, and is about 10 years old. It still shines and looks great. There is minimal wear and tear, with a few minor chips and scratches. All the sheet metal looks to be original. The vinyl top is in great shape, with no significant wear or damage. The glass is all very good. The floor pans and frame rails are all original and in excellent shape, with no rust. The interior is in excellent original condition. It's got two-tone leather buckets with center "buddy" seat and armrest. The seats show only minor wear, and have no cracks, rips, or discoloration. The door panels are excellent. The dash pad is perfect. The headliner is also excellent. The carpet has minor wear and fading, but is still quite presentable. If you’re in the area, you’re welcome to come and look at the car before bidding. Known Problems: Rear bumper chrome is starting to peel Air conditioner needs a recharge (compressor spins, but no cold air) Right rear quarter extension moulding has pits Grille has minor pitting but still looks good Rear valance panel has a small dent and a few scratches Some of the piping on the center armrest needs to be re-stitched The clock doesn't work, and the second hand is broken off A few chips in the paint, but still very showable The engine and trans leave a few drops on the garage floor, but nothing significant An alignment is needed Payment Information: The reserve on this car is very reasonable. Don’t ask me what it is. Just bid what you think the car is worth. Now that the economy is getting better, prices are bottoming out. Now’s a great time to buy. I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with low or negative feedback. If this applies to you, contact me before bidding. I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction, with the remainder due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Payment must be in the form of cash. Cashier’s checks will be accepted, but due to the large number of counterfeit checks these days, the car will not be released until the check clears. Other payment methods may be accepted with prior approval. Thanks, and happy bidding!
