This 1965 Ford Thunderbird up for auction is equipped with the standard 390 V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, power driver's seat A/C and an AM radio. The engine starts easily and runs smoothly and the car drives well with no apparent problems with the exception of some exhaust noise. The power steering works properly and the brakes stop the car with ease although I have not checked the condition of the linings, drums or rotors. The engine, however, does have an exhaust leak on the right manifold which is not terribly loud but definately noticeable. I believe that there may also be a small exhaust leak farther down stream in the exhaust system. The front power windows operate properly but the rear windows do not. The power seat operates but I'm sure the mechanism should be cleaned. The A/C/heater blower works on all 3 speeds and the selector lever properly directs air flow. On the A/C side, the air does not blow cold so there is an issue with the compressor or the system charge. On the heater/defroster side, it takes a while to heat up so I suspect that the thermostat needs replacement. The cabin air flow through system fan can be heard in the back where the air exits so that will need some attention. The ammeter, temperature and oil pressure gauges appear the be working properly but the fuel gauge is pegged at full when the key is turned on. The interior lights (doors and rear seat) all work when turned on by turning the headlights switch. The door switches, however, are not functioning and will need replacement. The exterior lights all work, but the sequential turn signal system needs some attention as the signal sequence varies. The doors open and close fine and the window stops are correctly set. The interior of the car is in a presentable driver condition with the exception of a seam in the headliner that came apart and has been stiched to hold it up and a crack in the upper dash where the sun beats on it. The windshield wipers work but the washer system is not connected. Even the fasten seatbelt light, map lights and the original AM radio work. The exterior of the car is in good shape in terms of the sheet metal. There is no rust to deal with and only some minor dings. Also, looks like some previous repair on the lower right fender due to minor damage. The paint, however, has a lot of nicks and chips on it. The chrome looks original and is average driver quality with only one area on the right front bumper where it may have brushed a curb. The tires are in decent shape and still have quite a bit of wear left on them. This is a car that will require some work and repair, but some of it is small stuff. The car is basically solid and still wears its California black plates. I have stated the mileage on the odometer but I do not know for certain that it is correct. There is no warrantee stated or implied on this car. It is sold as-is, where it is and on a bill of sale. I have described the condition of the car as I know it to be. This Thunderbird is basically a complete and solid car and offered at a low reserve (under $4K), so if you're looking not to spend a whole lot up front, this one might interest you. The vacuum release for the parking brake is not functioning. The parking brake holds the car properly and it can be released by the manual lever that is built into the system in the event that the vacuum system fails. This item has been relisted due to the fact that the buyer who purchased this car had his registration revoked by Ebay hence the sale was cancelled.
