Vehicle Detail
Up for auction without a reserve (what am I thinking) is my 1st car, the car i learned to drive a stick on, the car my late grandfather left to me... a '71 VW SuperBeetle. Why am I selling it you might ask. Well I need the money to take care of my family...2 year old daughter and wife...we have ben living with my mom for over a year now and we have overstayed our welcome. But let me cut to the chase. Iv owned this beetle for 6 years now and all iv ever done to it is change the oil and transmission fluid regularily and kept the valves adjusted. But this past December it broke down on the way to work. Im not a mechanic and i could not afford to take it to a mechanic so i just got my mom to cosign for me and i got a 2000 honda civic, which my wife will ride in (cuz she thought the bug was ugly and didnt want to be seen in it (rere)) and feels comfortable having our daughter ride in. This Beetle isnt doing me any good by sittng under my moms house. It deserves to have some1 who has the time to figure out what is wrong with it and who is financially able to bring this beauty to its full potential (which i wanted to do so bad but i am just unable financially and time wise). Mechanically...it does not run. I do not no why and havent ben able to figure out why. Every place i call to get sum help tells me the same thing "get it towed in and we'll take a look at it" but i cant afford that. My grandfathr left me the Haynes manual (which is included in this auction) but i do not have the brain capacity to understand or the tools needed even if i did understand. All i do no is that wen it did run, it ran like a charm. The torque was gr8 in 2nd gear. I used to say that if i had a cupple buddies stand on the rear bumper i could do a weelie. Cosmetically...the paint job is in good condition. The color is maroon. The only spot of rust is on the rear engine hood. Not a big spot of rust at all (4"x7"). The interior is in gr8 shape. There is only a small rip in the passenger seat that is 2" long. Other than that, it just needs to be vaccumed and wiped down. Tires are in good condition. they still hve a little tread left on them and all four hold air. The spare tire is also in good condition (which is located in the front along with the jack, o ya...all of the wiring needed to tow this baby is included cuz my grandpa used to tow this bug behind his rv) Well...its official...this superbug is for sale. Contact me for more pics or if u have questions...and please bid big :)
