Vehicle Detail
Honda Goldwing 1976 GL1000LTD, limited edition 1 of 2000 imported into the USA back in the day. Lots have been written about this special bike, I will not go into all the details on this rare model, I will just say that anyone who owns one has a very special bike in the garage. The Good: ALL ORIGINAL - very little has been altered/changed/modified on this bike, and when it was needed only OEM parts were usedNo signs of ever having been in a wreck or ever been dropped No fairing or engine guard marks on the down tubes - this is especially rare, most have been damaged from installing these optional items and are extremely difficult to repairEngine runs - I got it to run momentarily, no odd noises and smoke went away quicklyExhaust is solidnew start/right switchall electrical functions seem in order Chrome kickstarter lever is under the 'hood' Chrome is in decent shape - with polish it will look perfect from 3 feet awayVery rare original tool kit (sorry, no manual or key fob)Clear TitleThe Bad: Bike has suffered from being left outside under a cover and not stored properly - lots of TLC will be needed to bring the shine back to the chrome and lustre back to the paint, but I believe it is possible without extensive re-chroming or repainting (if perfection is your goal, some items will need plating but certainly not all) Carbs move freely but likely need cleaning or rebuildingBrakes dragging slightlyneeds new front tireseat has a nice cover on it, but it is far from the pattern/design of the originalSo there you have it folks, your chance to buy into one of the most rare bikes made by Honda in the '70s at a reasonable cost, and it is a wonderful platform for restoration. You can see more pictures here: http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/tomswift99/GL1000LTD/ Here's how this works - Bike is sold "as is". Ask questions now, bid later, then if you win the only question you can ask is "will you help load it?". Bike is sold "as is". Pickup is done locally (north metro Atlanta area) but I will cooperate with any shipper who arrives at my doorstep with a container or truckbed. Deposit is required via Paypal within 24 hrs after end of auction. Balance may be paid in cash, wire transfer (bank-to-bank) or via Paypal if you pay the fee of 3% for the payment of the balance. I recommend uship.com for easy and cheap shipping - they have done a good job for me many times. Typical rates are $400 for shipping up to 600 miles. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!! TS99
