This particular motorcar was originally purchased by Hartford City High School in Hartford, Indiana as a driver's education vehicle in 1952. In 1954, it was retired from service and purchased by its first private owner, Dom Chamberlin, also in Indiana. Directional indicators were added to the car as required by the state's then-law. In 1958, the original owner passed away and the car was retained by his wife, Mary, and driven occasionally until she too passed away in 1972. The car was then inherited by a friend of the family, Dwight Taylor, who restored the car (but not to factory spec), drove it for five years, and stored it in a barn for the following 10 years. In 1990, he passed the car along to his son, Paul, who drove it on weekends until he passed it to his son, David, in 2007. The last owner picked the car up from Georgia and brought it locally to Florida where he had it fully restored to original factory condition inside and out, including the elegant pit-free chrome, Onyx Black on Twilight Blue exterior, and factory upholstery pattern and colors.
