Vehicle Detail
"Naw, She ain't fer sale, Ima gonna fix her up sum day." I heard this about 15 yrs ago when I tried to buy this car, which was sitting behind a run down doublewide with stuff packed in it and on it, the grass around it was so high I thought it was a Camaro at first. Everyone has one of these sitting in their hometown, the one that can't be bought, and there is always that story that comes with it, the kid killed in Vietnam, The Grandma who couldn't drive car, etc etc. Well this one came with a story as well. Legend has it (ha ha) the family I purchased this from was the 2cd owner, they obtained this car from a teenager whom had blown the engine @ 1979 ( the original engine was a 400) They installed a 455 out of a 1973 Grand Prix (still in place) and were smoking the doors off of everything around town, they also installed the Dukes of Hazzard Looking wheels and apparently a little indoor outdoor carpet for good faith :). Then, as Lady Luck would have it, somewhere in the year 1980, Ol Big Bubba got himself a mean Speeding/DUI ticket in the Bird. Paw parked the car and put the key away, hence the reason this car sat idle for the past 30 years... "We never could find the Key to it, but we was aimin' to have one made" OKKKKKKKKK. This is the local car that was Bad Ass in it's day , got retired and could never be bought. However, after watching Barret Jackson and seeing one just like it go fer...... yeah yeah, At any rate I bought it, Sometimes it's just about saving it from an idiot. I own 2 Trans am's and neither is what I want, a 76 and a 79, I want a 77, So I am going to offer both here and track down me a 1977. Here's the scoop on this car. It needs a total restoration which will include, windshield, floorpan patches, trunk pan patches. The 455 is not seized from sitting however it is not running either, So it will more than likely need built. The front bumper is torn as is the rear, The shaker is broke but the breather is in good condition, There is some filler in the passenger fender ( apparently Bubba jr turned into a bondo artist along the way) the passenger rear lower quarter will need a patch panel. The driver door looks to have some filler as well, there is a small amount of rust in the driver rear lower quarter as well as a small dent, both of which are repairable. Now I did sand some surface rust spots from the car and apply a thin coat of black primer in some places on the car to keep the neighborhood busy body satisfied. As I said this car needs a complete restoration, Oh yeah one rear brake is seized so Bring a Good wench or a rollback. Trim data is as follows ST76 2F587 N 130 975 BDY TR 19N A51 19L 19U pnt 01E A31 WS4 BLK 200980 CAr has no title, Georgia is a non title state on pre 1985 vehicles, Comes with the most current Georgia registration ( 1980 ) and a legal Georgia Bill of Sale, Check your state laws before you bid. I, as a Trans-am Lover, Believe the car is well worth saving and restoring to it's original Beauty, this car was striped with gold decals. Payment is due in full within 5 days of auction end, if you don't have the funds, don't bid. OFFERED AT NO RESERVE
