Vehicle Detail
1973 Porsche 914- This is the ONE you've been saving for! This is a one-in-a-thousand Porsche 914. This car is in beautiful stock condition with no modifications. It is TOTALLY solid and clean throughout- free of rot or rust, and it runs and drives perfectly. You will not find a cleaner 914 for sale. This car has 58,010 ORIGINAL MILES SINCE NEW. All of the gauges and instruments are working properly. Please follow this link to Photobucket for additional high-res photos of the exterior and interior- http://s803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/john8md/1973%20Porsche%20914/ Please follow this link for detail and underside photos of the car- http://s803.photobucket.com/albums/yy319/john8md/1973%20Porsche%20914/Detail%20Shots%20and%20Underside-%20Porsche%20914/ This car has only had two private owners since new- we just purchased it out of the collection of a gentleman who's had it for the past 21 years. This car has always been garaged and properly serviced on time. There is not one known mechanical problem or issue. We have the original owner's manual plus the factory books and papers from when it was purchased new in Berea, OH in 1973. This car has a 100% solid body and underside- there is NO BODY RUST. Even the battery tray is perfect, original and solid. The car was repainted in 1990 soon after the second owner bought it. One small paint bubble surfaced during the curing of the paint, by the driver's side marker lamp- it has been that way for 20 years and has never gotten any worse. I've included a closeup photo of this- but it is admittedly very hard to see. There are maybe two tiny dings and a tiny scrape by the rear wheel arch- this is excellent for a 20-year old paint job. This car has never been in any known accidents. This is a SUPER clean and straight body on this car- and did I mention rust-free? This is a lift-off (Targa) roof car, and the solid roof stows in the rear trunk. This is a very easy process to do, and can easily be handled by one person. This car runs and drives perfectly. The car has the original fuel injection system- it has not been converted to carburetors. It starts up perfectly, even when cold, and idles well. There is no smoke and no leaks. The clutch is strong, and all the gears shift fine (provided you are familiar with how to shift a 914!), and the brakes are good. The steering is tight and precise- and the handling is out-of-this-world outstanding! The heat works- though not so hot that I'd recommend this car for super cold weather. This car has NEVER seen snow or salt, or any winter driving, by the way! Recently replaced parts include: pedal bushings (all new with brass instead of plastic), ignition coil, fuel-injection control module, 2 brake calipers. All valve adjustments and oil changes have been done on time. This car needs nothing. This 914 is an absolute BLAST to drive. It's tons of fun, sounds great, and it's responsive and torquey. This is the most fun you can ever have ripping up and down a twisty road! This car gets a thumbs-up from everyone you see. I passed a guy in a brand-new 911 Turbo yesterday and got a thumbs-up from the driver. His car was nicer... The body is totally straight and clean- it was repainted in 1990 in the same original color. Both headlights open and close properly. The floorplans and front/rear trunk floors are PERFECTLY SOLID and clean. There are NO rot or rust problems. Even the square "jack" receptacles on the rocker panels are clean and solid. You'd be hard-pressed to find a cleaner or nicer 914 for sale anywhere. This is a meticulously kept, perfect-running car that looks and drives beautifully. If you have questions or if you'd like to see the car before bidding, please email me thru eBay or call/text me at 440 339 4341. This listing is being offered with NO RESERVE. I have the clean and clear OH title in hand and ready to transfer. This car is stored indoors in Willoughby, OH. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours, and full payment is due within 7 days.On May-23-10 at 07:11:56 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple bidders had questions about a few things- the paint on the car was done 20 years ago and it carries an excellent shine and gloss. It is single-stage paint. They used a sandable primer under the paint and typical for an older paint job, you can see light hand-sanding marks in the primer under the paint. There is no overspray and the paint quality is quite good; there are no runs, fisheyes or orange peel. It isn't faded or oxidized, either. This car has basically not seen rain or weather in 20+ years. As previously mentionted there is the one paint bubble by the marker light up front, and one tiny bubble on the passenger side door that does not break the paint, and has been there for 20 years as well. There are two tiny shallow door-dings on the passenger door. There is ZERO body rust- ZERO. The bottoms of the doors including the drain holes are totally solid and perfect. The battery tray is original and is as solid as the day it was made. The panel gaps are typical 914- they don't line up perfectly but they never did from new. The brakes are firm and stop very well, all the calipers release properly. A couple people had questions about the engine- it starts instantly and perfectly every time, hot or cold. There are no leaks or oil drips. I should mention that all the shock towers are perfect as well.
