Vehicle Detail
Changing lifestyle prompts the sale of my 1982 VW Rabbit Pickup with diesel engine and 5 speed transmission. The truck was restored as needed about 3-4 years ago and driven almost daily since. It has, however, been stored during the winter months to avoid exposure to the harsh Western N.Y. winters. Restoration included a nice quality base coat clear coat paint job in the correct silver color. Also included were new carpet, new tires, exhaust, all hoses, front stuts, rear shocks and brakes. The truck starts, runs, goes down the road and stops as designed and is in drive anywhere condition. The engine uses about 3/4 quart of oil between 4000 mile changes although most of my driving has been local. There are no fluid leaks of any kind. Everything about the truck is OEM except for a JVC AM FM CD radio and the seats and headliner which have been redone in a matching grey tweed fabric. The truck has factory AC which is intact. However the condensor is leaking so it isn't functional. A good condensor from a 1984 Rabbit will be included with the truck. Please note that prior to restoration the truck had some rust in the driver and passenger side floors and on the outer wheel wells behind the front struts. These areas were repaired with new metal by a the same top notch body man who did the paint work. The truck is now very solid underneath and should give many years of service. It is currently registered in NY state and has a valid NY inspection sticker. It is sold with a clear NY title. In summary I believe that you will find this to be one of the nicest VW pickup trucks around with exterior, interior and mechanics all being in exceptional condition. Winning bidder is required to pay a $300.00 deposit via PayPal with the balance due when the truck is picked up. Buyer is responsible pick up or transporting the truck but the seller will cooperate fully in that process.
