RELISTING DUE TO NO CONTACT FROM WINNING BIDDER. Please Only bid if you intend to complete transaction. Thank You Up for auction is a VERY RARE 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Retractacle Hardtop Convertable matching number car. This car was obtained from a gentleman that has enjoyed owning it since 1969. He purchased it fom the original owner, his brother. The old girl has been upkept and driven regularly for it 51 years. She runs and drives really nice. Retractable Hardtop works. It has the original 332 motor and transmission which was completely rebuilt 7,000 miles ago. It is the 3480th built in Dearborn Michigan. Early Skyliner models were tagged with the Failane emblem and the later models bore a Galaxie badge. She has Power brakes and Power steering, Dual exhaust, Stock wheels with original hubcaps. Original interior is intact with the exception of carpet and seat covers that were replaced. The Dash has no cracks with a very nice instrument cluster. Original factory AM radio. The bottom of the cars frame appears very solid with minimual rust. This car has been repainted. However it is not a showcar quality. All glass is there but dr door has a crack in it. Can be replaced with minamal effert. All stainless trim is there but could use refinishing. Chrome Bumpers are again original but are driver condition not show quality. This old girl is a real head turner in her current state but could truly be better with some TLC. Great for local shows and cruise in. I reserve the right to end auction early in the event the car sells locally On May-03-10 at 13:25:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to a Skyliner enthusist, I need to correct the motor size. The motor is a 332 not a 352. Sorry for the type-o. He also informed me that It is a very early production (the 3480th made) In Dearborn,MI. The early models had Fairlane on the rear quarter's then they changed to Galaxie.
