Vehicle Detail

Yes!! I have ALL the parts. You are bidding on a 1958 Cadillac Sedan DeVille 62 Short Deck This is a project car. I have over $20K invested in it so far. Unfortunately, the change in the economy forces me to abandon the car mid project. My loss will surely be someone’s gain. Here are the upgrades/conversions that have been made to this car. The Engine The Engine (not yet rebuilt) has been swapped for a 1970 Cadillac El Dorado 500. For those of you who know Caddys, this particular engine produces 400 horse power and 550 ft. lbs. of torque at 3000 rpms. It is the strongest performing motor Cadillac has ever developed. Furthermore, the bolt ons (i.e. headers, intake, heads, crank, etc.) for the 500c.i. are readily available just about anywhere online. An oil pump displacement kit is already installed to insure chassis clearance. The Transmission The transmission has been swapped for a newly rebuilt Turbo 400. This tranny has the rare B.O.P.C . (Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Cadillac) one piece bell housing that is bolted directly to the engine without an adaptor kit. The tail shaft is the shorty shaft that will allow for a potential Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive System, which could turn the 3 speed into a 6 speed. The Chassis The chassis has been completely reworked. The entire front clip has been converted from the original 3 link system, to an upper/lower control arm system. It was designed and fabricated on the chassis by Terrible Rawl’s Custom Fabrication in San Diego. This NOT a bolt on conversion kit. The control arms are outfitted with two new Fox Coil Over shocks that were custom valved by the Fox Factory and are rated for the swapped engine/transmission weight changes. The spindles are 2001 F-150 spindles which will make for easy installation of 13” disc brakes. The rear end is a custom made Ford 9” from DTS (Drive Train Specialists) The ends are also set up for Ford 13” discs to match the front. The mounts for the front and rear calipers are set up for Wilwood disc brake calipers. The Body The body has been completely removed from the chassis and acid dipped to remove ALL rust. Any areas that were rusted, were cut out and replaced with new metal sheeting, hand crafted on an English Wheel. Before the body was put back on the frame, it was primered with an epoxy coating. PLEASE NOTE: The fabricator was converting the rear body clip to a 1960 rear body clip, to make it one of a kind. Only one side has been completed so PLEASE keep in mind that if you purchase this car, you will need to decide what body style you wish to go with. With that said, the structure of the car remains intact, so if you wanted to return to the original body, it could easily be done so with a new rear quarter panel. Parts & Pieces I have EVERY piece to this car, boxed/bagged up and labeled. All the glass and trim are complete. I have all the interior parts, from the dashboard to the seat frames, it’s ALL there. NOTE- The instrument panel has already benn rebuilt and customized. It is also up for auction, but it will NOT be included with this auction. You are welcome to purchase it outright, just e-mail me. Disclaimer Please NOTE that this project is NOT for the faint hearted. This car was in the middle of an approximate $80K-$100K ground up show car fabrication. This project will likely take a substantial amount of time and money to complete, depending on what you want to do with the car upon completion. Anyway, now that I am bummed just writing all the stuff that I have done to this potential dream car……. Good Luck.
