Vehicle Detail
PLEASE NOTE – I am listing this car for a friend who is not familiar with selling on eBay, so all references to ownership are references to him and his family. He and I will be working together to respond to any and all questions as they arise. I pride myself in the level of customer service I provide for my normal day-to-day eBay sales, and will continue to do so on this special listing! You are bidding on a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle 350 Super Sport with a 5.7L V8 engine. This muscle car runs and sounds great! This is a REAL SS and comes with the build sheet to prove it – as seen below! The build sheet will be included with the car when it is sold. The vehicle has been in my friend’s family since 1974 and the original used car window sticker from 1974 will be included with the car when it is sold. MECHANICAL The vehicle had 51,796 miles when it was purchased on October 29, 1974. We are unsure if the engine was replaced prior to the car being purchased, but based on the engine serial numbers, I don't believe the current engine is the original engine for the vehicle. The serial numbers we find on the engine are V1006CKW and 13W129653. The engine has been rebuilt twice since the vehicle was purchased in 1974, but it has not been replaced in that time. The engine was first rebuilt approximately 30 years ago and again about 18 years ago at approximately 130,000 miles. The 2 barrel carburetor has been replaced with a 4 barrel Holley carburetor. It has a 4 speed automatic transmission with the gear shifter on the floor. The transmission was replaced less than 20,000 miles ago. A new muffler and exhaust pipes were installed approximately 25,000 miles ago. The exhaust manifold gasket was replaced approximately 2,000 miles ago. New air shocks were installed approximately 1,000 miles ago. The front pads and rotors were replaced and the front bearings were packed less than 10,000 miles ago. There are less than 20,000 miles on the Goodyear Wingfoot HP tires so there is still quite a bit of tread life yet. The tires have been cared for – no burnouts here! Not that it couldn’t be done…this engine roars!! THE EXTERIOR Overall, the body is very solid! This car looks great! With some work, it could be a show car! The vinyl top has been replaced with a hard top. There was a minor accident about 13-14 years ago and some professional body work was done to the rear passenger quarter panel where some bondo was used. There was a second mishap in the exact same area where another vehicle was brushed up against, causing some minor damage to the bondo'd area as seen in the pictures. This is the only part of the vehicle that has bondo as far as we are aware. There is a small dent in the body on the front driver's side quarter panel. There is some minor rust you will usually see on many of these cars, but there are no holes in the body. The floorboards and trunk are solid. The underbody is in great shape as can be seen in the pictures. There is some touch-up paint on the car behind the rear passenger window where the car was egged years ago and it was not noticed for a couple days. There are some chips in the paint on the hood from stones. The lower part of the side windows have some scratches as seen in the pictures. INTERIOR There have been some modifications to the interior of the vehicle, including replacing the original AM/FM radio with an AM/FM Stereo with CD Player. Bucket seats have been installed in the front. The driver's side seat has a tear on the seat and some stitching along the seam on the side that is starting to come apart. The passenger seat is in great condition! The rear seat also has some tears on the top as seen in the pictures. There is also one cigarette burn from many years ago on the base of the passenger side of the back seat. The driver’s side door handle has a tear as seen in the pictures. The rear view mirror has some small discoloration under or in the glass across the bottom as seen in the pictures. The interior carpet has faded a bit, so what was once black is now a bit lighter. SUMMARY This is a great car for any collector or weekend driver! While there are some minor cosmetic issues with the car that you may want to address, this is a very solid car that runs great, sounds great and gets many thumbs up from folks who see it on the road!
