Do you ever wish you could go back in time and order the car of your dreams? Do you wish that you had then tucked away that Very Special Car from Back in the Day? Well, this Trans Am was ordered by Pontiac Motor Division with all of the right options. Rarity Current estimates are that there are only 300 of these First Generation Trans Ams in the World. How many are 4-Speeds and how many are equipped like this one? The car runs, drives and performs just like back in the day. All of these options are still in place today. History The Trans Am spent most of its life in Missouri as evidenced by the inspection tags. I have the last three owners names and will share them with the successful bidder. I have owned this beautiful T/A for approximately four years. Although, I looked for it for 20 years. I do not believe the car has ever been shown and this is probably the first time that anyone is seeing it. Which will allow the next owner ample opportunity to show off this beauty. The car has obviously been well stored in climate controlled environments. The condition of the car speaks for itself. But better than that it has it’s Original “Born-With” drive train from the Intake, Cylinder Heads, Engine Block, Exhaust Manifolds, and the Differential. However, the original transmission case was cracked and replaced with a correct date coded M20 case. A new Gardner Exhaust has also been installed. The correct reproduction GM ribbed hoses were used with reproduction clamps. It is in an excellent state of tune and runs and drives beautifully. The T/A still wears it’s original factory steel hood and all of its original Ram Air Pans are in place. Engine Stampings Cylinder Heads Transmission Differential Tires and Wheels The Firebird still wears all four original Rally II wheels. I have just installed five brand new Coker F70x14 Wide Oval bias ply Firestones. The center caps and trim rings have also been replaced. Paint The Trans Am appears to have had a single repaint (most likely in the 1980s). It is in very good condition and has a beautiful shine. It is a two stage base coat/clear coat. The stripes and decals were correctly painted and placed. All of the trim and bumpers are in very good to excellent condition. The paint does have some slight shrinkage on the hood and there have been a couple of some small chips professionally touched-up. I would never consider painting the car. The body lines and panel fit are all excellent. Chassis The under carriage of the car is simply amazing. It has never been undercoated, changed or repaired. A new correct style Gardner exhaust system was installed last month utilizing the correct resonators and cross-over muffler. The floor pans, frame rails and trunk pans are original and in beautiful condition. All new brake lines and fuel lines were installed. The correct style spiral shocks are also installed. See the photo bucket link for a complete set of under-carriage photographs. Interior The interior of the car is beautiful. The dash pad, gauges, steering wheel, door panels, seat covers, headliner and carpeting are exactly as you would expect to see given the low mileage that this Firebird has experienced. Bidding This is a unique opportunity to own a truly rare and special car. Please do not bid if you have Negative Feedback or less than Five Feedbacks without calling first. In fairness to qualified bidders, I will delete any bids from unqualified bidders. This is not an opportunity to bid and look. If you would like to inspect the Trans Am before the end of the auction I will make myself and the car available upon request that is why I decided to let the Auction run for 10 days. While the T/A is in beautiful condition, it is 41 years old and as such is being sold As Is/Where Is and no warranty is either expressed or implied. My name is Ed and I can be reached at (847) 809-8022. Please feel free to call with questions. Thanks for looking and Good Luck with the auction. If you would like to discuss adding a Buy It Now Price, feel free to call. Based on his apparently thorough analysis between 65 and 69 cars came through with Custom Blue Interior and a 4-Speed. Even fewer of those cars were equipped with the Factory Tach and Rally Gauge Option. I will share any additional information that I receive from him. Just an FYI, I am a nut about 69 TAs and had a listing of 690 of the 697 vins with some info on them. I got this list from Pete McCarthy I compiled it and based on your Color, Int and Trans these was olny 65 made, Well I am missing 4 vins that were RAIII/M20. I guess those could of had 210. So maybe 69. If you add the Tach/Gauge cluster I am sure it goes way down. My count on 210M20RAIIITach is 49 Goodluck Selling. I would appreciate any info you have on this car, Got alot from your austion and also on New owner. If you could havehim contact me.
