Vehicle Detail

UPDATE:5-6-10 I started the bike up this morning to warm it up and take it around the block. It has a miss on the lafet side when at low speeds and cold. When you open the throttle it picks up and takes off great and runs powerful, but at low speed and cold it has a miss. I took it over to the local Triumph shop because I thought it may need a coil or something and the mechanic there insists that it only needs to be run a bit since it had been in storage for 4 years. I think it something very simple and will probably have it worked out if I get time; but I don't want any surprises to the new buyer. I wanted to make this updated change before anyone puts a bid in. There are many "watchers" that have this earmarked so this is your chance to be first at the cheap buy it now price.. Because of this slight issue I have decided to reduce the price of the bike to the bare minimum I have to have for it and change the buy it now price from $4500. down to $3400. I feel that this bike is a steal at that price and I will let the new owner finish working all of the little issues out. This bike is still very nice overall ..Thank you. Hello,..This listing is for my 1979 Triumph Bonneville T140E 750 Motorcycle. This bike had been off the road and stored in the garage since 2006. A few weeks ago, I got it out and took it to the local Triumph dealer 3 miles from my house and had it completely gone over and all major items restored or replaced to get it safe and road ready for a new owner. I purchased a newer Triumph Bonneville America, so I have decided to sell 2 of my other bikes; this one and a Honda V65 1100 Magna that I will be listing on another auction. This Bonneville is mostly stock with a few minor custom pieces added such as: King and Queen seat, wire looming, sparkeez, (great on British bikes to see plug fire) and new base/clear tank paint. I have put more than a couple thousand dollars into it in the last few weeks to bring it back to it’s current state of "very good" condition. I have taken pictures of some of the receipts and can take you to the shop to verify all work that was completed. Some repairs and resto parts include: New correct tires, ignition, full fluids change and complete service, master cyl., new chrome fork tubes and all seals, spindle caps, tach drive gears, petcocks and gas lines, tank paint, sidecover emblems and much more. ( It doesn’t take long for things to go bad if they sit for long periods of time.) I drove it home from the shop on 4-30-10 and it seemed to run really strong. I put about 28 miles on it trouble free. The shop mechanic said it now needs to start having some regular miles put on it. Although all of the major work is done, it still could use a few little odds and ends, such as: Speedometer works spuratic. The odometer works fine and the miles are low, original and correct, but the speedo is questionable at times. It drips a little oil as most do but nothing major at all; besides the old saying about these bikes is "if there’s no oil under them; there’s no oil in them!! They have a release tube that allows oil to breathe out. It has a few small wear spots around the seat edges but again nothing major. The photos show how nice this bike is. I feel that this bike is a very nicely presented street driven antique 1979 Triumph that gets attention and positive comments wherever I take it; and is a great investment that will surely increase in value in the years to come. I will schedule telephone conversations with seriously interested parties, and personal inspections are welcomed before you buy. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. Most people that I have sold items to say that my stuff was nicer than described. I am particular about my stuff and I keep things nice. You can tell from the photos that it comes from a clean home and nice neighborhood where we are proud to own nice stuff. Again, this bike is sold as is and may need a few little things as you put your personal taste on it, but it runs well and is ready for your state inspection sticker. Pickup only on this, but if you have a shipper set up, I will assist in any way I can. I will accept cash payment at time of pickup and I need this transaction to be completed within 5 days of winning. PLEASE,..SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY...I wish to have a trouble free experience. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding..Tom
