Greetings to All!!! imotors is pleased to present a GORGEOUS 1949 Plymouth Super Deluxe Convertible. Now I am not much of an expert on old fifties American iron. BUT, I do love everything about them, and wonder what happened to all of the Automotive magic that was going on then. This car is all about some of that "Magic". Please note that you couldn't restore this car to the level it is today for what you can buy this one for now. THIS is the way to go.....purchase a car that is already DONE....Let someone else do all of the work, and write the checks. No busted knuckles, or enormous bills for rebuilding or RE-CHROMING(I just spent OVER $20K in chrome to do a fifties car) !!! AND, no 10% buyers premium at a collector car auction. This is the ONLY way to buy a collector car!!!!!!! Plymouth introduced this particular body style in mid year. So there are 2 1949 body styles, both extremely different from each other. This style lasted well into the fifties. It is so much more modern looking than it's predecessor, and quite the pleasure to drive!! This particular example was recently purchased from the gentleman who restored it. He bought it about 12-15 years ago, and completed an off the frame restoration. The fruits of his labor are what you see here. He built this car to DRIVE, not to win trophies(which it probably did and will anyhow)!!! And it is just that. It has a later model transmission installed with Overdrive(1953 I think?). It also has carpets with mats, and seat belts for safety, along with recent radial tires. He drove it about 8,000 miles in the last several years after it was finished, and after driving it myself, I certainly understand why. This car is literally a DREAM to drive. I am doing a frame off on a 54 Buick, and I can only hope that my car runs and drives as good as this one!!! Snipers take note... THIS IS THE ONE!!! I think it is just Gorgeous. The paint is in excellent condition. It is clean and shiny with no signs of damage. There are a very few stone chips and nicks here and there, from normal everyday use, hardly noticeable. The Brown canvas top is excellent along with the rear plastic window. There are about 50 photographs below, so that you can take a tour of the entire car...from outside to inside. Even the rear and the engine compartments are shown, along with many of the wonderful features and options......please take the time to let all of them load, we're sure that you will be just delighted. The interior is a very Special also. It has glove soft Two-Tone Beige and Burgundy Vinyl/Naugahyde that is super soft and comfortable. It has a factory installed radio and heater that both work well. All gauges function correctly, as do the dash lights(VERY Important!). The wind windows roll up and down with ease, and the hydraulic power top works correctly. As with all classic and collectible cars this wonderful 1949 Plymouth Super Deluxe Convertible is being sold without warranty. Due to it's age, mileage cannot be verified(Probably set to zero at restoration). It has a Clean Pennsylvania title that reads "Exempt" for mileage. All in all a wonderful Plymouth Convertible at a very affordable price that you can drive and enjoy RIGHT NOW!! No busted knuckles, or boxes full of zip lock baggies full of parts.
