Vehicle Detail
1972 Special Order Triple Black 442 This rust-free 1972 Ram Air-equipped 442 spent all of its life in Winston-Salem, NC, and retains all of its original sheet metal and most of the interior as well. The car has been completely restored to as-original condition, including the spectacular special order Code 19 Ebony Black exterior finish and contrasting White 442 striping, both less than a year old after replacing the factory finish. The SS2 Rally wheels sport new caps and rings, and roll on the correct Goodyear Polyglas tires. A Matching-Numbers, Original Ram Air car with only 50,625 actual miles, this is one of 1,121 1972 442 Hard Tops, it’s nicely equipped in the best 442 tradition, with Air Conditioning, Power Steering and Brakes, Sport Mirrors, Console, Sport Steering Wheel and a Factory 4-Speed Transmission. The otherwise original Black interior is fitted with new carpets and inner door panels; all chrome and bright metal has been refinished. Documentation for this Black beauty includes the Factory Build Sheet, the Dealer PDI checklist, Brochures and All Owner’s Documents. I also have the complete three owner history of the 442 and will share it with the successful bidder. Highlights: - Special Order paint color 19 Ebony Black - 4-speed manual transmission - Original Build Sheet - Complete restoration - Factory Ram Air car - Numbers matching - 1 of 1,121 - 50,625 actual miles - Air conditioning - Power steering - Power brakes - Console - Sport mirrors - Sport steering wheel - 442 Performance package The restoration and finish on the 442 are spectacular. At this point, I’ll let the pictures tell the story. I am a retired and personally collect, repair, restore and preserve Classic Muscle Cars. I have a clear actual miles Indiana title in my name. I will make myself and the 442 available for inspection by appointment. If you are a serious buyer, please inspect the car before the end of the auction. I am letting it run for 10 days to allow ample time. My name is Ed and I can be reached at (847) 809-8022. How Many Do You Think Were Black? It was a Special Order Color in 1972 from Doctor Oldsmobile. I have never seen another one like this! Please Note: If you have Negative Feedback or Less than 5 feedbacks please do not bid without calling first. While this car has been beautifully restored, it is 38 years old and therefore will be sold As Is / Where Is.
