Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a 4-wheel Drive, 1991 VW Vanagon Syncro, and his name is Bob, in need of some TLC. Technically two owners, but only on paper. Title was transferred from my mothers name to mine a few years ago. He’s been ours since day one, direct from the factory in Germany 117K miles – the odometer shows 17K+, but was reset at about 100K (there is documentation - sticker in drivers side door) It was originally converted to a handicapped-accessible vehicle for my father. This was his 4WD all access transportation. There is still a mounting bracket installed next to the hatch in the rear, and tie-down points in the cargo area of the van. There was a lift, but has since been removed. The van also has rubber mats instead of carpet. No longer should you be concerned with staining that beautiful carpeting with a spilled cup of coffee, or muddy mountain bikes… a little soap and water, and/or a broom will take care of it with no stains at all. I drive it often, and it runs like a dream. The GOOD: 4WD with lockable differential, seats 7, Power windows, AC (needs to be recharged), power locks, front passenger seat swivels, removable middle seats for more cargo space, back seat folds down into a bed, good heat, Kenwood stereo with removable faceplate, floor mats (no carpet), clock, inspected (NJ title), new distributor cap/rotor/plugs, muffler and some exhaust piping were replaced last spring, good tires, no frame rust – underside is very clean. The BAD: Driver seat has small hole from spring wearing through, and rear bench seat has tears in the front leather Some rust at body seams, around rear hatch window, and left rear window; frame is solid, no rust underneath gas gauge does not work. I had my mechanic take a look, they said it was only the wiring, not the sender. I just never bothered to fix it. Van is located in downtown Jersey City, NJ.
