Vehicle Detail

1966 Chevrolet C-10 Custom cab fleetside pickup truck. I bought truck almost two years ago for $5000.00 and it required an almost complete restoration. That was pretty steep but I wanted it because it was straighter and more solid than most of these trucks you find and the drivetrain (motor / transmission) had been recently updated. I have included many pictures. Some that were taken while it was in the paint shop. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of it exactly like I bought it. I guess you would call the restoration "Pro-Touring" style. Truck Details: Drive train: The motor is a 350 small block. According to the previous owner it had about 5000 miles on the rebuild when I got it. I did not get any details on the rebuild, but it cranks and run great. It sounds very good too with a very slight lope and has dual exhaust. It has an Edelbrock four barrel carb. HEI electronic distributor. Like most older Chevy's I have had it does leak a drop or two of oil, but nothing major. The transmission is a turbo 350 automatic. It shifts strong and performs as it should. The rear end is the original twelve bolt unit. Also under the hood are the comfort upgrades of power steering and power disc brakes. Both are complete kits from Classic Performance Products and consist of new power brake booster, calipers, lines, rotors, spindles, pads etc. and power steering pump and steering box. I have put about 500 miles on the truck since I got it back from the paint shop and it drives and performs comfortably on the road. Suspension: The truck has been lowered all the way around with items purchased from Classic Performance Products (CPP). I wanted to use CPP because I wanted the truck to be right and not "rigged" with a bunch of stuff from here and there. CPP is know for their quality products and custom applications. The front was lowered using a kit that consisted of drop spindles for the front power disc brakes, new coil springs and new shocks. The rear was lowered using a kit from CPP that included new shocks and coil springs. The wheels are new Foose chrome Nitrous- 20" on the rear and 18" on the front. If I remember correctly the rears are 10" wide and the fronts 8" wide. The tires are also new Nexens. 245/40ZR18 on the front and 275/40ZR20. The suspension performs great on the road. No scrubbing of the tires or bottoming out whatsoever. By the way the new CPP rotors and axles were updated to five lug. Interior: The interior looks great! It was painted red to match the exterior. It has gray leather seats, steering wheel, carpet, console, armrests and sunvisors. The seats are leather and have built in shoulder and lap belts. They are all power and everything is wired up and work perfectly. They and the console came out of a Yukon Denali and are in great shape. The steering wheel is a Lecarra leather unit with polished billet aluminum. The full gage set is Dolphin with polished billet cluster. I had the original gauge bezel chromed to complete the great look. The speedometer works, but I un-hooked the cable because it was whining a little. It was the original cable and will probably need to be replaced-just haven't gotten around to it. All other gauges work and light up with the headlight switch as they should. The truck originally had AC, but does not now. It does however still have the rare AC vents in the center of the dash. I had those chrome pieces re-chromed and they look great. It has a new tinted windshield / rubber and tinted big back glass / rubber. The original side windows are still there and are in good shape. The gas tank was taken out of the cab with a custom aluminum one mounted under the bed. Much neater, cleaner and safer. It has matching carpet on the back of the cab behind the seats. Floor carpet has sound deadener under it. Paint / Body: The body was in much better than average when I bought the truck. It still had the original gold / white paint on it. To keep the filler down to a minimum the body shop recommended I find doaner replacements for the tailgate, inner fenders, front bed panel and right front fender-which I did. The color is GM Torch Red with white trim. It could use a little more buffing here and there, but as you can see from the pictures it shines and shows well. The paint shop did a good job. I also had the tailgate chains removed and custom hidden latches installed by the body shop. Every piece of chrome / trim on the outside of the truck is brand new. New halogen headlights as well. Bed: I bought a kit from Mar-K to redo the whole bed. It consisted of custom cut oak boards, polished stainless steel strips and polished stainless steel hardware. The bed wood was sanded and sealed with about seven coats of outdoor polyurethane. The bed also has a polished billet gas door to access the aluminum gas tank under it. The tank has a self sealing cap on it that you do not have to take off to fuel. It is properly vented and has a new sending unit and in line fuel filter. My reserve is private. I will say that if it meets reserve that is still $5000 less than I have invested in this truck, but I need the money. It should easily meet and surpass it. $500 due via Paypal within three days of the end of the auction. The balance is due within one week in cash or check. Check must clear before truck can be picked up. The winning bidder is responsible for transporting the truck, but I will assist as much as I can. Good luck and thanks. Please e-mail or message me with any questions.
