Vehicle Detail
Offered in this auction is one of 3 Festivas I will be selling, the others are a 1989 Red with flames and skull on the hood 4 speed, it's a parts car and a 1988 Silver 5 speed. ALL cars are about 40 miles North of Pittsburgh, PA. Easy to get here from major highways & interstates. This is a 1993 Ford Festiva L, 5 speed manual transmission, rear window defroster, passenger side mirror, and that's about it for options. Does NOT have AC. Excellent runner and starts right up every time, drives straight and smooth, transmission shifts perfectly, body is in excellent condition for being 17 years old, passenger front fender dented and minor hood damage, but both work fine. Brand new battery from walmart with a 3 year batter warranty. This car was undercoated when new and that is key to a festiva lasting a long time, even the engine compartment was undercoated, this car has 80,640 some miles and I will drive it this week to make sure everything is fine. Always get 40+ mph minimum. Some surface rust to the lower right hood edge and small spot on the tailgate, I think these are visible from the pics. Rocker panels and dog legs tend to rust out on Festivas, these are perfect in that regard. New exhaust from converter back, painted with high temp paint to protect and enhance the exhaust life. No significant rust on the frame or floorboard either. Interior is in excellent condition, seats are near perfect except at the tops, can be seen in photos, non smoker car and the cigarette lighter has never been used, no dash cracks, small stone chip in window but nothing significant. I didn't clean the carpets, they arent filthy or disgusting like some I have seen. Tires are in nice shape and painted-to-match wheels. PA inspection thru 4-2011. Clear title. What you save on gas will pay for this car in less than a year depending on how much you drive. I have a NOS front passenger fender authentic new from Ford, $100 extra payable on pickup IF you want it. TERMS: Within 24 hours of the auction closing a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the final selling price must be paid thru paypal. Balance in cash on pickup. NO checks on pickup. Car is available for inspection and will be offerd for sale locally so don't wait till the end to lock it in. Once the reserve is hit, it will no longer be offered for sale locally and it's an all ebay sale. Reserve is reasonable. I also put a new alternator in this car when I first got it and it couldnt have more that 300 miles on it. Occassionally the driver's automatic seat belt delays in retracting. That is about all I can think of to illustrate it's condition, after all, it is 17 years old and not yet a collectible car, even if I think that they are. Festiva was a joint Korean/USA car with Kia making the body, Mazda making the engine, Mitsubishi manufacturing the starter or alternator and the Blue Ford Oval being pretty much all that Ford contributed. Original Owners Manual is intact, original jack and spare tire are too. I have had well over a dozen of these cars and this is one of the best, you can park them anywhere, awesome visibility because of all the glass
