Vehicle Detail
This is a 1966 Mustang Convertible project car. I bought it several years ago to work on it, and simply never have had time and want to give it a chance for someone else to pick up on this dream. Since I've owned it I have kept it in a garage, heated for the last 3 years, and the 289 engine runs and I was able to drive it on my property yesterday - transmission and brakes worked -but of course given the condition I have never registered it. This is going to need a complete restoration by someone with the time and knowledge to achieve it. It comes with a lot of parts, some I received when I bought it and some I have purchased new since. The ones I bought are all the same as when I bought them (in good shape) and some of the metal parts that came with it when I bought it have mild surface rust from sitting - should be easy clean up for that. It does require cutting and welding to restore this properly. Mileage on the odometer is not verified, so I do not know for sure it only turned once. I cannot tell you a whole lot more about it because I bought it in pretty much the same condition it is in today, but will try to answer direct questions. I'll be away for a couple of days, so please be patient with me for replying to your questions. Parts to be provided with the vehicle include a floor section for the driver's side, mirrors, visors, strips for the side rockers, front bumper, torque boxes, frame rail, glove box insert, center console section, some switches, and the seats shown (need to be recovered). There may be a few additional items - anything I have for this car goes with it. I towed it on a trailer when I bought it and again when I moved here. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Within New England and perhaps as far as eastern NY (under 200 miles), I would be willing to help transport it for an additional fee. We can discuss this if applicable, and the fee would include my renting a trailer and a price per mile for my time. Otherwise, I would work with you to schedule having it picked up from my home - it cannot be driven on the road.On Apr-26-10 at 18:15:16 PDT, seller added the following information:Some questions I received from interested members are worth posting the answers for others: Q: What do I mean by local delivery, as in how. A: I have moved this car twice, and both times I rented a full trailer which I towed behind my personal vehicle. Costs would be based on the rental cost, mileage, and expenses Q: Do I have a title or registration for the Mustang? A: No, I never did, but do have the paperwork from the previous owner showing the paper trail(but no title from him either). I've never registered it due to it's condition. Keep sending questions - I believe in disclosing anything I know! Thanks. On Apr-30-10 at 11:09:52 PDT, seller added the following information: The question about the paperwork was asked several times while I was out of the country, and one bidder helped me out by researching some of the requirements. I'm back now, and he let me know that a VIN check with my local police department would be needed. I was able to achieve this today. That form will now be part of the paperwork provided to transfer ownership, including a new bill of sale for this sale (and the previous ones that show how it came to be my property). VIN verified as 6T08C212090. Sorry for my typo in the listing.
