Vehicle Detail
1985 302 4v V8 Automatic • Some Work Left • Street-Show-to-be Click here to see more photos and learn more about this Mustang. What makes this 'Stang so great is that it is a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe with a 1985 302 4v V8 engine from an '85 Fox-body Mustang and a C4 automatic transmission. Engine was rebuilt recently and has about 30,000 miles on it. It also has air conditioning and power brakes, though the A/C is currently removed. This is a project and a street-show-to-be Mustang. When you buy it, you will need to re-install the wiring system, the door glass and most of the interior, pad and upholster the front bench seat, install the A/C, and replace a bad MSD ignition box. The transmission needs a shifter (we have one we will include, though the chrome has some damage) and should probably be checked/serviced as needed. Otherwise, this Mustang is done as far as we know. The engine has always run strong and sounds great--this will be a very fast Mustang! It has an MSD ignition system (box is bad, as we said), Edelbrock 4v carb, steel braid hoses all under the hood, Shelby-style fiberglass hood and trunk, blue paintjob with double white racing stripes, Cragar SS rims, CD player and aftermarket sound system. The paintjob is only about three years old (just before Jared bought the Mustang) and the painter did a lousy job, so this is a 10-footer driver Mustang (though it does look REALLY good at 10 feet). The undercarriage is solid and completely rust-free (there is some rust bubbling up near the passenger door on the front fender, this is due to poor prep before the paintjob) and everything down there is undercoated to protect the metal in the Florida weather. We also went through an extensive cowl repair (Mustangs rust up there all the time) so you won't get a leaking 'Stang. The dash and doors were recently painted black, and since the Big Chief is a trained painter, they were done very meticulously and look great.
