Vehicle Detail
I am now retired and have too many vehicles to keep up with and maintain, so I am selling my 1992 Camaro RS that has a 5-spd manual transmission and a 5.0L V-8 engine with low miles. I bought this car for my son in early 1993 and am the second owner. It has been sitting inside my shop for years, so now the fuel pump must be stuck, and the engine dies when it starts. I bought a new fuel pump for it, but saw that it would require too much work to put it on, so I am selling at a low price just to take it off my hands. The body is not in great shape and needs a paint job badly.Since the car will not start, I am selling "As Is, No Warranty", and, if sold, will need to be transported off my property by a car trailer, or equivalent. Here are the defects as best as I can see and remember: Known defects: 1) needs paint job 2) needs fuel pump(I will give you the new one). 3) front bumper assembly guard cracked. 4) scratches on driverside quarter panel and a small dent on passengerside one. 5) interior not that great(dash board cracked). 6) someone tried to steal the car at the Target parking lot and destroyed the nice Pass-Key ignition switch and steering wheel. I replaced it with a used steering column that does not have a Pass-Key. However, I left the original Pass-Key and ignition switch connected underneath the steering column wiring that can be used as a theft deterrent. Remove it, and the car will not start. 7) One (passengerside, I think) or both electric windows will slowly or not go up/down. 8) Oil pan seal or chain belt seal will have to be replaced. It leaks a little oil when the engine stops and car is parked. This is because when I replaced the velocity damper, I also replaced the timing chain belt seal. However, I got too lazy and did not drop the oil pan, so I had to poke in the seal with a screwdriver, thus damaging one of the two mentioned seals. 9) Window tint is old and needs replacing. 10) Car antenna needs replacing. 11) Driverside tire has a slow leak and might need replacement. Good stuff: 1) Replaced alternator 2) New front windshield. 3) New clutch set and flywheel machined out 4) New clutch master cylinder. 5) New exhuast system. 6) New, at the time and hardly used, Aiawa AM/FM/CD system with a custom built boom box that has two 15 inch Punch bass woofers. However, I took out the 100 watt Punch amplifier and is not included. 6) Trunk motor works and closes good. 7) All window glass in good shape. 8) A/C worked good at the time, but might need R-12 freon after sitting for so long. 9) Good alloy wheels and tires(except slow leaking one). 9) Electric door locks work. Car also has a car alarm that I put in it, but is disconnected. 10) Replaced electric fan motor. Note: This car is being sold as is at a low price. If parted, the parts alone will be worth it. Engine is good and has low (73,847) original miles. I bought the car six months after it was new, but now that the paint is tarnishing, it has signs that it might have been painted a different color. It was almost new at the time, but I now realize it was strange, so whoever buys it, please do not expect a perfect car for the money. No refunds on the downpayment if not satisfied. Again, remember that it has to be trailered off due to the faulty fuel pump.On Apr-23-10 at 06:47:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: The 3rd picture makes it look as if the top part of the front end panel(near the hood) is dented. It is not. It is a shadow reflection due to camera angle. Only has scratches on it.On Apr-23-10 at 11:46:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Note: I am also giving away free four(4) gallons of your choice of two car paint colors: 1) Space Blue Pearl Metallic or 2) Emerald Green Pearl. This paint is made special for horse trailers, so from what I understand it is thinner and needs at least 2 or more coats. You can make your selection when you pick up the car.
