2000 Miata SE Offered is a 2000 Miata Special Addition. Painted in Mahogany Mica Metallic (original paint) with tan leather interior. Heavy duty 6 speed transmission and limited slip differential. It has all the Special Addition features such as Bose CD system, A/C, PS, PB Cruise Control etc. etc. About two months ago the engine spun a rod bearing, so I removed the engine and had it completely and professionally rebuilt with new bearings, rings, valve seals, head polished, cylinders honed, water pump, timing belt and tensioners… In essence it has a brand new engine. In the past six months I have also replaced the heater core, and installed a new alternator. Total value of all the repairs and upgrades is over $2000.00. I do not expect to recover all of this so my loss your gain. This is an original paint 78,000 mile car so there are the normal stone chips and dings on the nose of the car. The tires are in excellent condition. The interior is also in excellent condition, and comes with two sets of floor mats, one tan and one dark Burgundy to match the car. I bought the car from a dealer in VA. I liked the color and it had been equipped with roll protection (something these cars lacked, that I felt was important) I had originally planned on turning this car into a track/street monster by building the engine and putting Spec-Miata suspension on it, but that never happened. I bought the SE model specifically because it has the more robust six speed transmission and posi rear end (both able to take the extra horsepower I had hoped to add). As it turns out I ended up buying a ready built Spec racer (you can see it in the background in these pictures) I thought that I would keep this car for a daily driver, but a long time and very dear friend was laid off, lost his health insurance, and has heart problems, and to add to his troubles his wife was just laid off also. If I sell this car, I would be able to help him get back on his feet. For anyone who does not want to wait for the auction to end, I have added a buy-it-now price. The reserve is less than the buy-it-now number for those of you who would rather wait till the end. As with any casual sale this car is sold as-is-where-is with no warranty expressed or implied. All bidders are encouraged to inspect the vehicle before bidding or have their agent do it for them. The car is located half way between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
