Vehicle Detail

Anyone who has ever worked on or restored a classic or antique car knows that you end up earning about .55 cents an hour for your time. I guess I don't expect to get out what I have invested in this spider so whoever gets it will have gotten a great buy. Why? Well, for starters the motor is amazingly strong. Oil pressue is perfect, temperature is right where it should be and this motor hums. Starts right up and wants to claw, no scream through all five gears. Which, in case you did not know is or can be unusual for Alfa's of a certain age and disposition. This car shifts beautifully. Alfa's will often develop problems with their syncros especially between first and second gears. You get that "crunch" or grinding that kills the acceleration. Not with this car. Shift as quickly as you want. No problem. Wow. Nice exhaust tone, breaking is fine and the car tracks very nicely especially on curves. I spent $1500.00 on a paint and body job. I also personally replaced the top with a top end canvas version. The interior has been completely redone. New seats, new carpet and new side panels. The interior work cost over $800.00. Oh, and did I forget that this car comes with a hard top--factory issued model that is almost impossible to find. The top alone would sell for $600.00. OK, new tires, new battery, new master clutch cylendar, new slave cylendar, fresh spare tire, new rubber all around. Upper dash has no flaws or cracks--another rarity. As is the case with any older car, this one does have a few clitches. The power window on the driver's side works great but the passenger side will work only occasionally. The power side mirrors work but you have to be patient. The reverse will pop out when it is very cold--sometimes. The speedometer is a bit loud (clicking noise) and some underpanel pieces for the dash are missing. The original sound system has been removed and I have opted to sell the car before installing a newer system with an mpv connection. This car needs a loving parent. I have two other alfa's and they are enough for me. This one is hard to surrender but I just do not drive it enough. This is a really find car that needs an attentive and appreciative owner. Could be you at a very reasonable price.
