UP FOR AUCTION IS A SHARP LOOKING 1963 CADILLAC SERIES 62 CONVERTIBLE WITH 33,630 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. HOT RED BEAUTY WITH GREAT LOOKS AND A SMOOTH RIDE. IT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN FOR COLLECTOR OR ENTHUSIAST. Vehicle comes from Mississippi, having spent some time in Ohio as well. Previous owner was supposedly a Cadillac enthusiast, having over a dozen old beauties stashed in his barn. This one was no different, except that it had been sitting for a while and hadn't been driven much, although it was started periodically to keep the engine and fluids fresh. Needless to say, i've done a lot of work on it myself since I got it back here to NY. The paint was very dull so I sent it out to my shop and had it lightly wetsanded and professionally buffed out and right now it's very presentable for a decent driver. Interior was a mess so I cleaned it thoroughly and with a lot of elbow grease made it look the way it does now. Some new mechanical parts were installed such as plugs, cap/rotor, points/condenser, fresh gas was put in the tank and the lines cleaned up. The brakes were looked at and tweaked and a whole lot of other things. Interior is in GOOD overall shape. Seats are very nice with no rips except for one golf ball sized hole at the left shoulder of the driver's seat. Door panels presentable with some small tears around the edges. Carpet is worn but still presentable. Dash in fair shape with chipping throughout and dash pad has one crack down the middle but still presentable. Convertible top is worn and to do it justice it should be replaced, but it keeps the elements out and looks halfway decent (WORKS WELL UP & DOWN). OVERALL A FAIRLY PRESENTABLE DRIVER QUALITY INTERIOR! Mechanically the car has been checked by my mechanic and starts/runs/drives fairly, although it could use a complete engine servicing which I haven't had time to do, as well as a newer carburetor. Starts right up and idles great. Transmission seems to shift fine. Brakes work well and stop the car fine. Exhaust sounds good. I have driven it on a number of occasions, mostly around town and a couple of times on the highway but before doing any long distance driving, I would have it completely checked out and serviced. Basically it needs to be driven consistently and the more you drive it, the better it feels. Being an old car, it is NOT perfect by any means. Paint shines up FAIRLY for a decent driver but it is older should be redone to take it up to the next level. Chrome is presentable with normal pitting and small dents on bumpers (front passenger side of bumper is a little crooked). Not working: clock, radio, horn, (windows work but are a bit slow) and i'm sure a few other small things don't work that I can't remember. Body is actually pretty straight overall, although there is bubbling by lower door corners and lower rocker panels. Underside has scaly surface rust throughout but appears that frame is in solid shape overall (floorboards do have some prior sheetmetal work here and there but overall pretty solid, same for the trunk). Tires need replacing and front ones are not whitewalls. That's about all I was able to notice. It may need a few other tiny things as any other used car, so please keep that in mind.
