You are bidding on a 1978 Chevy Chevette 2 door hatchback. This was the car the that your parents bought you for your first car back in the day. You know, the one that you covered your head with a paper bag so nobody knew who you were when you went to school, and every one else was driving their gas guzzling Camaro's and Mustang's. You were a dweeb or a nerd if you drove a car like this........ And now everyone has something smaller that is much more boring. Now you miss you first car and wish you could show your kids what they were missing. Well here it is, and trust me this car is much cooler with 32 years of history under its belt. This car is mostly original except it has been repainted. The body is pretty decent but not perfect it is missing the plastic bezel around the drivers side headlight. and the passenge side floor is a little weak. The 4cyl motor runs good but leaks a little oil where the timing cover meets the oil pan, not real bad but it will leave a puddle about a silver dollar size in 20- 30 minuts. A little silicone would go along way. the tranny is a manual 4 speed and shift properly but when you put it in reverse it will jump out if you dont hold onto the gear shift. I think the rear tranny mount is weak and is the cause for this. This is a 32 year old car that still runs and drives it is not perfect but has tons of character. It is fun to drive and it gets alot people asking questions about it or wanting to share their highschool story about the one they used to have. Also these cars have already hit rock bottom and now are only climbing in value and as fewer are found on the road they become more sought after.
