VIN: 408375S107841 (Matches current configuration) Engine number 3970014 – most likely a 1968 Passenger Car 350 V8 – so not original. Approximately 14,100 Miles showing, undoubtedly rolled once. California License Plate “5NVZ641”, registered up to 06-2010. Very nice looking coupe without any signs of a major accident with very nice paint.. Decent fitting body panels like you can expect from a glass body. Very straight body with no signs of significant damage or repair. Door jambs show some flaws, but still good quality. Paint was redone to silver metallic while the car was Daytona Blue originally. Few flaws in the paint, high gloss shine all over. Ultra rust free frame that shows dry heritage. New, restored original-style vinyl interior, done in black. Seats with no wear marks – new and unused condition. The interior, dash and weatherstripping are very nice throughout the whole car. Good original engine compartment in nice, unaltered condition. Cass runs and drives well. The chrome on the car is good, however shows some scratches on both front and left-hand rear bumpers. Still shiny chrome but has some wear. Tires are new, original style Ensign 205/70/15 whitewalls with stock steel wheels and original spinner hubcaps in nice condition. EXTERIOR BODY: For a fiberglass car, it has a very straight body without any signs of a major accident. The panels and hood all show reasonably good fitting. The paint job is not perfect but still very nice and flaws are very few and very small. NO repaint needed for a nice enjoyable car, only for show purposes. Underbody is very nice, straight and original; not detailed but very honest. No rust found. CHROME: All chrome on this car has a nice shine but shows use marks like small scratches (hard to photograph). No rust, no bubbles, no scaling. Very straight chrome. Good mirror, nice original spinner hubcaps with some mounting dings on original steel wheels. Very nice original emblems. WEATHERSTRIPPING: Seals around windows, doors, lids and tops are all very nice. The vent seals do need replacing. The cat whiskers are good and functional. GLASS: Very nice tinted glass without any flaws. STAINLESS: All stainless and aluminum is nice, just was never perfectly detailed when the car was painted so it shows some minor use marks. INTERIOR OPTIONS: Pretty much a complete configuration including heater and original radio, no A/C. The dash is painted black, not perfect but nice and is in good shape. Seat belts are installed and sun visors are nice. Nice headliner, the console shows it’s age but is still in nice condition. Carpet in cargo area appears new and unused. UPHOLSTERY: Completely restored seats in black vinyl as per original configuration; the door panels and dash top in matching material. INSTRUMENTATION: Dash is in good condition. All instruments work except for the clock, horn and radio. Even the windshield washer works. All instruments are in very nice condition. OTHER: Original wood grain steering wheel shows some cracks from age. MECHANICAL ENGINE: Good running SBC V8 that looks stock on the outside, but seems to be a 350 engine from a 1968 Passenger Car (Casting 3970014). No further information is available. At a cold start it starts very nice, idles great right away. There is no smoke at start up and after warming up it runs very smooth. It would need a minor carb spring adjustment which is minor. Block sounds extremely tight, has a lot of bottom power and has no strange sounds. There is no (blue) smoke, NO indications of any repair needed. Engine is very nicely detailed and even after 20 minutes of idling there are no signs of any leak. Does not overheat while idling, no overheating signs either. Everything under the hood is very nice and stock looking. The intake is cast iron (3844459 which makes it an original 1964 unit). The carburetor is a Carter AFB 1770 with auto choke which is close to original, just not matching numbers. TRANSMISSION: Good shifting 4-speed manual transmission without clonks or other any strange noises. STEERING/SUSPENSION: Typical “direct” steering as expected in that era. No problems found, car rides good and handles like a regular 60-ies Corvette. Suspension feels good and tight but most bushings seem to have ozone cracks and I would suggest replacement for aesthetic reasons only. BRAKES / WHEELS / TIRES: Work well and sufficient. Original master cylinder and booster in good condition, brakes do not pull or squeal. Parking brake works. Like new tires, good spare. EXHAUST: Original exhaust system with resonators in good condition. No leaks, straight mounting with surface rust and rear parts recently replaced. TEST DRIVE: Good driving and handling car which can be controlled with little effort. True “driver” condition and seems to be capable of driving long distances. No significant rattles or noises, handles nice. No oil smoke, picks up strong and shifts well. After the test drive the car starts up right away again, nothing weird noticed.
